Recently, Indian cellphone brand Lava introduced its new battery oriented smartphone the Fuel Series. The Fuel 50 gets 3 days of active display and least 7 days of standby because of a 3000 mAh battery. Battery is seal packed and non-removable. Besides the massive battery, users do not have much to celebrate with Fuel 50.

The Iris Fuel 50 registers few pro features such as brilliant main camera, dual SIM, 3G and superb 3000 mAh battery. Oh! Not to forget OTG support. I am for this phone.
While all features listed under pros than what are cons? I am not a big fan of non-removable battery concept. If your phone is hanged – a regular issue found in Android smartphone, then what?

11) XOLO Q600S
Launched in the month of July last year, the XOLO Q600S has not done anything great in the market till now. Its price has a major drop from 8499 INR (when launched) to 6500 INR (now). Although the smartphone did not attract many customers, but it was one of the few devices that offered OTG support at that time. Also, the recent price drop has put this smartphone into competition with other smartphones in the sub 8000 INR range.
Overall the phone looks attractive in terms of design, thanks to the hard plastic used on the body. But the same plastic body makes the phone vulnerable to scratches and dents. The phone seems to be exaggerated in the vertical direction as the left-right bezels are thin, but the top-bottom ones are quite thick.
A qHD screen might not be considered great in today’s world, but the size of only 4.5 inches makes it manageable. However, you cannot expect an immersive experience in gaming and movie watching. The IPS panel enables the display to be devoid of distortions in all of the angles, but you might get LED leakage problems. Users will have to use a third-party screen protector as XOLO hasn’t placed any kind of protection on top of the display.
The XOLO Q600S might look appealing on the listed specifications, but badly fails when it comes to performance. A quad-core 1.2 GHz processor (Broadcom BCM23550 chipset) coupled with 1GB RAM does not seem to be helping the phone at all. Only 4GB of onboard storage will certainly disappoint you, but it can be expanded up to 64GB using a micro SD card.
5 MP camera at the back with LED flash is capable of taking some decent shots. You can also record 720p videos, but be sure to check the lighting conditions. Selfie people won’t have anything on this phone as it features only a VGA camera on the front.
It is a dual SIM phone and supports the following bands- GSM: 850/900/1800/1900WCDMA: 2100. Thanks to the low resolution display that only 2000mAh battery will give you a decent power backup. Other connectivity features of this phone include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and micro USB. The phone also features accelerometer and proximity sensor.
The XOLO Q600S in spite of available at such a low price offers high speed USB OTG support. You just have to buy an extra OTG cable from the market and your phone will be ready to get connected with all your USB flash drives.
The XOLO Q600S runs Android KitKat 4.4.2 out of the box. Many customers might get unhappy here because the Android One phones are also available around the same price and are upgradable to the latest version of Android.
The skin that this phone runs is a slightly modified version of stock Android. You will not get anything special here and the whole interface is full of lags.
- Cool design
- OTG support
- The storage is expandable up to 64GB via micro SD card
- Decent battery life
- Low resolution screen
- Front camera is of not much use
- Even though the storage is expandable the ROM is limited to 4GB only
The XOLO Q600S has got a nice package to offer. You get decent specifications and a nice looking body. High speed OTG support can be said an exception. However, the low resolution screen and low internal storage might distract many customers from buying this phone.
