Three Selfie Camera Phone Below 9000 Rupees

The concept of selfie photography is widespread phenomenon nowadays. It gets encouraged more in India when Prime Minister takes some cool selfie with world leaders in Global space. If I am not wrong, PM Modi’s selfie with world leaders are most shared selfie pictures online.

We are reviewing three good smartphones feature enhanced performance for selfie shooting. These gadgets does magic with unique features and extra accessories.

Micromax Canvas Selfie Q345 with 5MP Selfie Camera

The Canvas Selfie Lens is Micromax’s new attempt, part of “try, tasting and taking forward” policy. We always do online research to get feedback for better presentation about a product. Strangely, Micromax Canvas lens has been out of notice from customer, tech pundits and YouTube unboxing channels.

The new Micromax Q345 is dedicated for selfie and advance photography – a concept Sony Xperia had initiated year back. Sony offers wide range of lens that can be clipped over an Xperia Z series phone for DSLR type photography.

Micromax Canvas Lens sports the regular shape wherein sides are rounded off and nice metallic silver band runs around the screen. The rear features sandstone texture that renders grippy feel in the hand. Rear camera is closed behind a metallic ring adds additional protection to single LED flash when kept at tough flat surface.

The Canvas Selfie Lens offers better photography and decent multimedia experience. It is slim, sleek and nicely made gadget for a price of 8000 rupees. Impressive magic box lists a screen guard, super lens 0.4X and a clip besides the regular stuff.

Micromax Canvas Selfie Lens Q345 Review and Specifications

CPU: The Canvas Lens supports dual SIM setup for 1G, 2G and 3G network integration. Android Lollipop 5.0.1 OS runs the phone that dons strong CPU architecture begs reliable quad core chipset of MediaTek for smooth multitasking. Mali-400 MP2 500MHz graphic unit alongside 1GB RAM sufficient for rich graphic requirement.

Memory: Memory management seems to be ordinary here. Besides 1GB DDR3 RAM, 8GB flash storage is built, which can be further expanded upto 32GB using a microSD card. Micromax is a notorious brand installs many unwanted applications, which slices RAM speed and processor power. After the first boot, approx 400 MB free RAM and 4.89 GB free internal storage is left for users.

Display: The Phone flaunts 5 inches warm IPS LCD display has HD resolution based on a pixel density of 294 PPI. Corning gorilla glass 3 has proven record gets job done for scratch and pressure protection in the screen panel. For a price of 8000 rupees, the display offers fairly decent saturation results in better colour reproduction makes image, icon to appear more natural. Viewing angle is decent and brightness distortion is negligible. Watching video and images slideshow in group is a pleasant experience over this phone.

Impressive Camera Features

The main highlight of this phone is camera management. Its magic box lists 0.4X super lens along with a clip for better fixing the lens over the phone. User takes good quality pictures from 8MP primary camera that supports auto focus and 5MP front facing camera limited to fixed-focus. A super LED flash at rear helps taking HD video in decent quality particularly in low light ambient.

Camera advancement is impressive. Micromax offers a branded sensor to the rear and front shooter does the real magic during photography, Videography, and selfie shooting.

The front selfie camera has Largan Lens for professional shooting backed by OV image sensor. User will get a perfect selfie with natural colors and wide coverage of background that would get more like on social media sharing. The Canvas Lens fills gap in the current smartphone market lacking a group selfie shooter. Micromax gives 0.4X super lens to clip over the phone to take a wide group selfie. Indeed, this phone is a choice for family or classroom selfie.

The primary camera with astonishing hardware should be optimized for FHD recording. I am bit surprised for limitation of HD recording in a camera dedicated phone. Notwithstanding, video output in 720P resolution is really of excellent quality encourage to be used more as a professional choice in a big function.

Micromax Canvas Selfie Lens Q345 Super Lens Clip

A camera setting cannot complete without a good application for output correction and processing. The phone features an easy camera application to shoot and process content professionally with many enhancements and tinny modifications.

I would like to mention the beauty mode feature, which works great, adding micro correction in for a perfect picture. Use features such as Skin smoothing, sharpening and eye enlargement for better appearance and looks perfection. Red-eye problem can be also corrected here.

Impressive work from Micromax as it achieves purpose of the Canvas Selfie Lens Q345. A complete camera package backed by Sony hardware and easily usable application push the phone a step ahead than competitor in user’s elite choice.

Long Lasting Battery Backup

A smartphone requires powerful battery to last longer. I am sure user will not complain 2800 mAh battery has 9 hours of talk-time and 15 days of standby on the 2G network. The phone comes with sealed-in battery built cannot be removed without authorised service center approval. I am using Doodle 3 has just 2000 mAh battery gives decent backup of a day and half against basic usages. I am sure 2800 mAh battery would last more than one day against hard usages.

Verdict: Extra accessories in the sales box make it a hot choice much ahead than competitor. 8000 rupees is a budget friendly price in India. DD3 RAM, Sony sensor, Android Lollipop, latest MediaTek processor and other exiting features make the Micromax Canvas Selfie Lens a decent buy. Yes, I cannot miss extra additional lens that is good for taking group or family selfie.

Panasonic P55 Novo with Triple LED Flash

Panasonic does not have too many smartphones in the market, but I like this brand, not because it offers great features at affordable price rather it always tries to do something different in the budget smartphone segment. In July this year, we had witnessed the launch of Panasonic P55 Novo that offers some really amazing specs at just 8185 rupees. One great feature about this smartphone that I want to mention here only is that you can use it as a remote for a wide range electronic products like Satellite TVs and ACs.

In The Box: The Panasonic P55 Novo comes packed in a solid looking box that gives users an idea about the toughness of the phone itself. All the contents that you will find inside the box are:

  • Smartphone unit
  • Battery
  • Wall adapter
  • Warranty card
  • Screen protector
  • Flip cover
  • USB cable
  • Earphone
  • User guide and warranty guide

Build and Design: This smartphone features a textured back panel that not only looks great, but also helps in providing a firm grip. Metallic finish on the edges really gives a premium touch. The pitch black front panel looks amazing and will blow your mind. However, at 12 mm, this phone is not as thick as you might be expecting it to be.

Display: The Panasonic P55 Novo offers a wondrous experience to the users because of its high pixel density of 277 ppi. The IPS LCD panel promises great viewing angles as well as high contrast ratio. Its display is bright enough that you can easily read all the text even under-direct sunlight. The only thing missing here is a display protection, which is a kind of feature that most of other phones of this price segment do offer.

Operating System: This smartphone runs a near stock version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat. You will find the whole user interface smooth and snappy without any major lags. However, if you are wondering that this phone will be getting Lollipop update then you are betting on the wrong phone.

CPU: The Panasonic P55 Novo is one of the most affordable smartphones that offer an octa-core processor. Its 1GB of RAM provides enough space for multiple apps to run simultaneously. The bad thing is you will not be able to install large apps on this phone as its internal storage is limited to 8 GB. But Panasonic has provided a micro SD card slot that helps you store your favorite media.

Gaming of this Panasonic Smartphone

This phone does not face any kind of problem while running low intensive games like Temple Run2 and Subway Surfers. It also handles high graphic intensive games at moderate settings pretty well. However, some problem arises when games are like Asphalt 8 are played at highest graphic settings available, which is really disappointing as it boasts an octa-core processor.

Benchmarks: There is no connection between the hardware of this device and the score that it gets in the benchmarking tests. Antutu always gives this phone a score below 30,000 and in Neenamark 2 it only scores 59.1 fps.

Camera: The experience that one gets while using the camera of this phone is really breathtaking. You will get amazing low light images with the rear 13MP camera of this phone as it is supported by a triple LED flash. It is also capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. The 5MP front camera of this phone is no less of a surprise because it also comes with a LED flash. It can take gorgeous selfies and can also be used to do high quality video conferencing.

Connectivity and Sensors: Let me end the curiosity, this phone does not have 4G support so you will have to rely on Wi-Fi for your high internet speed needs. However, there is an IR port on it that makes this phone a universal remote. The phone is also loaded with all the sensors that you will ever need.

Battery: For a phone that features a huge display and an octa-core processor, a 2500 mAh battery seems to be a perfect companion. Users will easily make it to the end of the day on this phone.Panasonic P55 Novo Online Price in India

Pro Features:-

  • Great display.
  • Down-firing speakers for great audio experience.
  • IR port.
  • Premium design.
  • Decent battery backup.

  • No display protection.
  • Lacks 4G support.
  • Lags while playing intensive games at highest settings.

Verdict: This smartphone is not for you if you are looking for a performer. Even though it features an octa-core processor, but its performance remains below than expected. However, as a daily driver it is the best device that you can get right now.

Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM

Launched in India just two months before, the Lumia 540 Dual SIM had initial price tag of 9999 rupees. Cutthroat competition in Indian smartphone market forced the brand for price relaxation. Its current market price of 8999 rupees makes it a close competitor to a superior hardware the Lumia 640 Dual SIM.

Lumia 540 is an upgrade to very popular Lumia 535. In Pakistan, Windows Eco-system has achieved whopping 60% of market share because of strong sales figure of the device.

We will try to answer few questions to make a clear distinction between this phone and the alternative Lumia 640. If you need all-rounder performance, Lumia 640 is much better choice. However, those seeking a Windows phone in budget for perfect selfie should fall in a queue for Lumia 540.

Microsoft 540 is nicely made smartphone has fluent performance, long battery life, latest Windows OS, superb selfie camera with good multimedia experience. Give it priority over Lumia 640 for selfie camera since its 5MP front camera is four steps ahead than 1MP camera of 640.

Microsoft 535 smartphone user should decide based on the requirement. Need better selfie and performance, the 540 is choice, but those wants advance performance and not enthusiastic about Selfie should make a decision final with 640.

Microsoft Lumia 540 available in Asian market with dual SIM support. It features Windows 8.1 with latest update2 also called the denim upgrade. The new update improves user interface to easier navigation. User can access to notification list much like Android. Touch instruction redirect to setting, which is nicely grouped, differentiated by colour. I am one of few believers of Windows because of its competence over low hardware for hassle-free performance.

Windows Eco-system is not well adopted because of poor hardware in the market. The parent company Microsoft does silly joke in terms of hardware selection. Snapdragon 200 has been out of midrange Smartphone space long ago. The chipset is mostly identified in 3000 to 4000 rupees phone segment.

Built and Design: Microsoft does better in terms of built quality. The new Lumia 540 Dual SIM packed in polycarbonate shell got volume rocker and power button at left edge, USB port at bottom and audio jack on the top edge. Speaker grill with primary camera and single tone LED flash resides on the rear. Much like Android, Windows phone has capacitive keypad, which is software key in this phone.

The phone features sharp polished edge, has matt finish at rear that is also fingerprint magnet. I would recommend black colour variant to ignore such bad quality. Since all assets are inline on rear so throwing it on a flat surface won’t damage any hardware component.

Windows 10 Mobile Operating System

Windows Apps platform have been grown up fast reaching very close to Android. All the best quality apps are found in its store. Those want an app for top 10 Katrina Wallpaper should look for a cheap Android device to download with the Playstore.

Number dialer and Keypad has improved in the latest update. Easy auto orientation vertical to horizontal makes chatting, messaging or email draft processor really easy. Keypad comes with extra frequently used keys, misses number pad.

Display: The Lumia 540 sports a HD screen has pixel density of 294 PPI perfect for every need. In terms of quality and colour naturality, it is brilliant display that registers few major cons, not alright in this price band. I really wanted Corning gorilla glass protection and super sensitive touch although Microsoft does get credit to fix touch related issues pertinent to Lumia 535. Nokia’s clear black technology over IPS panel makes the display really impressive.

Processor : The Snapdragon 200 is outdated chipset. Furthermore, Microsoft has shown no interest in improving user benefit by doing some custom job. The primary camera is limited to shoot video in 480P resolution when 720P (HD) video recording is possible on the chipset. Although processor does better in the regular usages rely on Adreno 302 graphic motion delivery that is further supported by 1GB RAM.

In terms of gaming, it does fair with most of games except the top line like Asphalt, Dead trigger, Nova and others. Game loads really fast on this device. User can play Subway suffer without any lag or frame drop. Rich colour production and powerful sound renders pleasant experience during gaming. The phone supports medium level game in advance setting and advance games in medium setting with much ease.

Good thing is the Lumia 540 plays Asphalt 8 in medium setting, which the case in the recently reviewed Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime has 2GB RAM and much more efficient processor. I have been repeatedly saying Windows OS is much more reliable than Android.

This is high time Microsoft adopts Snapdragon 410 chipset, which got place in other Windows devices. I had recently reviewed Blu Win HD LTE powered by Snapdragon 410 processor available at only 7999 rupees.

In terms of multitasking, the Lumia 540 dual SIM is marvellous – very smooth, solid and effective against odd multitasking.

Both Camera do excellent work

The 8MP primary shooter begs BSI sensor does excellent work irrespective of lighting condition. I am really impressed as image appears more natural gets decent coverage of background have sharpness and perfect white balance. Even distance shot looks more in better quality. User won’t experience problem in image shooter rather limitation of 480P recording is a worrying part.

The Lumia camera application offers many manual settings for white balance, ISO, flash control and shutter speed. This ensure user is able to secure better click. Its low-light shooting is also better does give fair visibility to subject though some noise could be noticed around. Photography in Zoom mode does not get good feedback. User will get bad experience as pixilation occurred across image.

5MP front shooter for video calling and selfie does much better than the rear shooter. Good background narration and natural colour reproduction makes it definitely a choice for group or family selfie. In fact, front camera is step ahead than primary camera in the Lumia 540 Dual SIM smartphone.

Calling : In my opinion, then Nokia now Microsoft is much better than all other brand in terms of calling feature management. If you want to experience real call quality try Lumia devices. You will feel listener is sitting beside you. Mind blowing calling experience with this phone, which is free from call drop or loose single. The phone renders excellent calling even if you are in poor network area.

Battery: 2200 mAh Nokia battery, I mean based on Nokia’s battery technology takes one full day’s multitasking, gaming, chatting, music playback, video experience, live FM and so on. Medium user or dead user like me will enjoy 36 to 48 hours of standby on 2G or 3G networks.

Sound : Main speaker does produce loud audio with rich bass during music, live FM or video playback.

Pro Features:-

  1. Web browsing experience is really good
  2. Install app directly to SD
  3. 4.50 GB free internal storage for user
  4. Excellent Front camera
  5. Lumia Devices are made for better calling

  1. 480P video recording
  2. No Indian 4G LTE

Three Selfie Camera Phone Below 9000 Rupees

Verdict: The Lumia 540 Dual SIM is a good choice at current price of 8999. In my opinion, its price should be approx 7500 rupees. If you can, wait for 10% cash back offer or a price cut by the brand. Although buying it in current market won’t be bad choice either.
