Philips SHB4000 Bluetooth Headphone in India

Philips SHB4000 on the ear Headset with Bluetooth Review

Philips has devoted its self into developing mid-range priced headphones as well as the cheap models too. I guess, the company has realized that there are a lot of purchases happening on their lowly priced products, than on the highly priced ones. Even so, the company has a responsibility of maintaining high-quality standards for their products, so that they don’t taint the name of the reputable brand. One of their best headphones set in this cut-price range is the Philips SHB4000 headset.

Of course, if you are thinking of buying some cheap headphones, you would be tempted to buy something from Beats audio or Sony. I wouldn’t judge you either, because the whole blame goes to Philips. Why? Because Philips hasn’t done enough marketing for this pair of headphones. Were it not for a friend, who told me about this product, I too would have bought something else. All the same, I bought this product and here are the features I liked in it.

Features of Philips SHB4000 headphones

Although Philips never created these headphones with a foldable design, they are reasonably flexible and can fit in fairly large pockets. The headband is thin and bendable and can comfortably rest on your neck. Moreover, if you are the kind of person who likes being in your headphones all day, this product is remarkably light in weight. The headphones only weigh about 75 grams and your smartphone is probably twice as heavy. The plastic finish also looks great, it doesn’t look cheap and with the Philips logo at the sides of the ear cups, you can easily stand out from the crowd. Unlike most Bluetooth headphones in the market, Philips minimized lighting and blinker effects on this product. The product only has about two LED indicators and this helps in saving power.

Philips SHB4000 Bluetooth Headphones Review and Specifications

Comfortable headphones

For easy use, the designers placed the control buttons in a strategic position on the rim of the left Earcup. The headband also allows for adjustment, meaning that you can always adjust its length as you please. Apart from being a lightweight product, the ear cups are heavily padded with soft cushions. This helps in reducing peripheral noise interference and also adds on to the relaxed feel on this product. The buttons on this device include a change track button (Next), volume toggles and a call switching button. The call switching button allows for you to answer incoming calls, as well as put active calls on hold.

Flawless sound output without interference

One problem that comes with most Bluetooth headphones, is the interference factor. With some headsets, you constantly have to keep pairing them with your device, every time you exceed the 10meter range. At times, even within the range, you still find such products disconnecting on their own or if they don’t, the sound quality is not something to revel in. However, with the Philips SHB4000, this is not the case. The sound output is clear and lossless.

Since the headphones feature some 32mm neodymium drivers, you can tell that the bass is something that will excite you. You also get to enjoy the beauty of digital noise reduction technology. The enhancement is meant to improve the clarity of the sound and isolate external noises.

To connect with your device, this product gives you two main options. You can opt for Bluetooth connectivity, where you will easily pair the headphones with your smartphone or laptop. In case you want to use this product on devices that are not Bluetooth enabled, you can always rely on the 3.5 mm AUX jack port. All you need is a 3.5mm jack end to end cable, which you will connect on the headphones and on the device too.

Battery life

I can’t complain about the battery on this device. It is a standard Lithium Ion battery that can go up to 9 hours when using it nonstop. The gadget also supports fast charging and has a maximum power input of 100mW.

Pricing and Verdict

Considering that these headphones support Bluetooth connectivity, I wouldn’t deem them as expensive. They are priced at 2400 rupees although in some online outlets, but you can get them for as low as 2000 Rupees. My conclusion is, buy them! They are a great piece and won’t disappoint you.
