Q392 Micromax Canvas Juice 3 with 4000 mAh Battery
Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax has brought out a new handset in Indian Market the Micromax Canvas Juice 3. USP of the phone is its huge 4000 mAh lithium polymer battery to solve the frequent battery issues face by the budget smartphone consumer. The phone is price attractively at Rs. 8999.
In the Box
- Micromax Canvas Q392
- In-ear type headset
- Free screen guard
- USB Cable
- Travel adepter
Let’s jump into the specifications and find out if this phone offer anything more than the big battery.
The phone does not win much point in the design department. It looks like a typical Micromax phone with a complete plastic body. Also, it looks cheap and seems like the company did not spend much time in the design room.
On the front you will find the in-call speaker, front camera and a few sensors. The in-call speaker looks interesting, as it is circular in design and one might confuse it for the camera. On the back you shall find the main camera, LED flash, the Micromax logo and the main speaker.
The volume and power buttons sit on the left, while the 3.5 mm headphone jack can be found on the top and the USB port rests on the bottom.
HD Display is Good support for Juicy battery
The phone sports a 5 inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The screen looks rich and vibrant, but a missing full HD display is a deal breaker as various smartphones offer the same in this price range.
Micromax Juice Q392 display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. As Gorilla glass 4 is already out in Indian market, sacrifice with old protection does not seem fair for a device costs user around 9000 rupees. Nevertheless with the protection you do not have to worry about scratches and expected crack on phone screen that in case of sudden fall.
Robust CPU and Lag free performance
The phone includes a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor along with 2GB DDR3 RAM. The MediaTek MT6580 is an entry level processor that provides efficient multi-tasking taking full advantage of its four cores. Coupled with 2 GB of RAM the end user will have a smooth lag free experience when using this phone.
Average Memory Management
The Canvas Juice 3 has an internal memory of 8 GB of which 4.79 GB is available to the user. This is really low though user should not worry because it is expandable up to 32 GB via micro-SD card.
Really loud speaker
The phone also boosts of an incredible loud speaker, which has a sound output of 96db. To give a better perspective last year’s loudest smartphone was the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with an output of 87db. So, you can imagine that this phone would give you a really good and loud sound output.
Missing 4G Support
It is to be noted that the phone does not have LTE support, which is a letdown. As it is expected for 4G to be rolled out all across India by the end of this year or early 2016. So investing in a smartphone that leaves you behind at this point in time won’t be a good idea.
Operating system, user interface and apps center
The phone includes the latest version of Android, 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. In recent launches, Micromax’s effort has been seen as making all new launches localized continue with the Canvas Juice three. Use this device in your mother tongue as it comes with an amazing support for ten regional languages and an ‘App Bazar’ to download apps in regional language as well. We do not know yet as to the number of apps in this ‘App Bazar’ but it is a nice add-on.
Micromax Juice Q392 includes an 8MP auto focus Rear camera with Flash and a 2 MP front facing camera. The camera does seem a bit under-spec considering the price. Output images are decent in well-lit conditions, but the performance falls substantially in low lighting. The front facing camera provides decent Selfies, and that’s about it.
The battery is the show stopper here with 4000mAh power output. The phone is marketed around the battery itself. It will provide more than a day worth of juice with moderate to heavy usage.
- Mighty Li-Po 4000 mAh battery for minimum two days of the regular usages
- Loud sound output better Samsung Note Edge
- Latest Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system
- The Device supports 10 regional Indian languages
- Read, review and download applications from “App Bazaar” in Indian languages
- FM with Recording
- 2GB DDR3 RAM
- Micromax Q392 does not support to Indian 4G LTE
- Cheap plastic body
Micromax is rapidly expanding its portfolio and in the process it has brought out some phones that are marketed around one USP and everything else feels forgotten about. The Canvas Juice 3 is sadly one of them.
The phone has an impressive battery, but with average Hardware and Camera it does not seem worth the price. It faces strong competition from the likes of Yu Yureka Plus, Lenovo K3 Note, among others.
