LeEco Le 2 All Metal Smartphone
Once again the Chinese have made a point to the world, that they too can produce original stuff. Their LeEco Le 2 which was announced in April 2016 is bound to bring a huge reaping to the Chinese company at the helm of ‘LeEco’ brand. I am not trying to be sarcastic, but this handset is way out of the iPhones’ league. I mean, it seems like all LeEco did was wait for Apple to publicize all its future plans with their iPhone and then rob them of the deal, by being the first to execute iPhone’s futuristic ideas.
Next Gen Technology USB-type C Audio Port
A good example is the omission of the 3.5mm audio jack port on the LeEco Le 2 and in place of this utility, a USB Type-C audio port. Initially, Apple had announced that they were still considering a possible elimination of the 3.5mm port in all their subsequent models, probably to make their phones thinner. However, it’s not clear why they did not effect this change soon enough with their iPhone 6. So LeEco took a leap of faith and installed an audio-supported USB outlet on the Le 2. Surprisingly, this USB audio jack is working wonders on the LeEco Le 2.
A certain enhancement known as CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio) has been integrated into the phone’s audio system to improve the quality of audio output. Indubitably, listening to music on the LeEco Le 2 is a hundred times better than doing the same on any other top notch phone that is still using the conventional 3.5mm audio jack port.
Build and veneer
If there is an area that almost all iPhone competitors are fighting to keep pace with, it’s the build and design aspects. LeEco Le 2 is no exception either and this you can tell from the all-metal build that it has which is accustomed to Apple. Nevertheless, LeEco’s Le 2 stands out well from the crowd with an equally unique design. All utilities are juggled up differently from what most people are used to. The back camera is located at the top center right above a working fingerprint scanner, which has anomalously been placed at the back. The omission of the 3.5mm audio jack means that it’s exceedingly slim. The Le 2’s dimensional measurements are 151.1 by 74.2 by 7.5 mm and weigh only 153 grams.
Snapdragon Octa Core Performance
Honestly, this phone is overly endowed. For a moment I thought that 1GB of RAM is more than enough for a phone, guess what, the LeEco Le 2 has a massive3 GB worth of RAM. As if that’s not enough, the phone harbors four Cortex A53 and four A72 cores with GPU capabilities. Its Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor means that it can handle all latest android games perfectly. So basically this is like a Ferrari running on a Bugatti engine. I mean where on earth will you ever get a chance to utilize all that power?
I don’t have much to say about the camera, but it too is impressive. The Le 2 has 16MPs (with phase detection autofocus capabilities) on the primary camera and 8MPs on the front camera.
In addition, you get a Bluetooth V4.1 enabled phone with GPS and infrared functionalities. It has a 32GB internal memory. The display is a 5.5 inch IPS display with a 1920by 1080 p resolution, Full HD. So this means that you can watch high-end videos and movies on your Le 2.
The pluses and minuses of LeEco Le 2
I actually fell in love with the phone’s design and the HD screen only came to weaken my spirit, I love it. Its processor works wonders not forgetting that it also has Adreno 510 GPU. Its battery life is also excellent. However, there was a major loop with the LeEco’s decision to omit the 3.5mm jack, since this means that you cannot listen to music at the same time that you are charging the phone. The UI also did not impress me especially judging from the fact that it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
My advice is – go for it. For a phone that has all these features and only goes for a price between 12000 Rupees and 23000 Rupees, this is like hitting the jackpot. Well, the price depends on whether you want the Le 2 or the Le Max 2. However, if you are patient enough, you might as well get a chance to experience the latest LeEco Le 2 version this July, the LeEco Le 2 Pro. All in all the LeEco Le 2 is a good phone if you can afford it, then go for it.
