The Firefox Mobile operating system has made entry into the Indian mobile market with two successive low budget smartphones launch. Intex Cloud FX and Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1 are two smartphones available with a price tag of 1999/- and 2299/-, respectively.
“This dual SIM-handset is targetted at those looking to upgrade from feature phones without worrying about the price or complexity of a smartphone. “ Spice Mobility CEO Prashant Bindal told PTI. The spice management is confident to sell at least one lakh units in next two months.

The Firefox OS designed to meet the growing demand of affordable smartphones. It has made entry ahead of Google’s much talked Android variant Android One’s Diwali launch in India. Google’s Sundar Pichai has informed that the Android One device will be affordable; however, there won’t be any compromise on features and performance. Google has signed deal with Micromax and Karbonn to launch the Android One powered device on the Dewali festival. According to media reports these smartphones will be priced less than 6000 rupees.
The Firefox OS target is mobile markets of developing nations. Especially, Asia is the center of attraction as it included the fastest gowning mobile market of India and the biggest mobile phone market in China. It already has devices in 17 nations.

I am a big fan of all three brands. My laptop and Desktop is powered by the Windows OS. I use Android powered Smartphones. And, without doubt, my favorite web browser is the Firefox. The Firefox OS entry with the idea to target the low budget smartphone segment has created a twist in the fight of Android and Windows mobile OS.
The Intex cloud FX is a good device at the current price of 2000/-. FX comes with limited resources and basic specifications. However, this shouldn't be a concern because it is suitable for those switching from the basic phone to a smartphone. The Cloud FX lists all required features such as Facebook, FM, Music player, Video player and a decent 2 MP camera for photography. Buy a 4GB microSD with the phone as it has just 40 MB inbuilt memory. The Firefox OS is optimized to support basic specifications. Therefore, users may not experience any lag in daily uses.
