Four Intex 2GB RAM Smartphones Between 6000 to 10000 Rupees

Home-grown brand Intex is doing all it could to get a slice of Indian Smartphone market. In last six months, Intex has launched more smartphone than Karbonn, Xolo, Lava and Micromax. The brand has also cared usability factor, which gets compromised because of poor RAM and less media storage.

Since 2GB RAM smartphone below 10000 rupees budget category has few listings, Intex sees an opportunity to get strong feet here. This year it has launched wide range of smartphones with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage available at affordable price points.

In our recent panel discussion, we realized Intex should be given more weights than Spice and Celkon. Starting with this article, we are planning to publish one more article with top four smartphones of Intex below 10000 rupees, launched this year. Therefore, in this Intex smartphones review article, we are presenting four smartphones pack 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. These gadgets are uniquely built offers robust performance available between a price range of 6000 to 10000 rupees.

Intex Aqua Xtreme 2

In spite of facing failure in the last couple of years, Intex is still convinced that it can give tough competition to big players like Motorola and Samsung. Two months ago, it launched the Aqua Xtreme 2 smartphone, which seems to be offering great features at an attractive price of 9590 rupees.

In The Box: Smartphone, Battery, USB cable, Wall adapter, Earphone, User guide and warranty card

Build and Design: Intex has tried to do something new with the design of this smartphone. There are two white strips on the back that run halfway to the sides. Curved edges covered with soft touch material give a much comfortable feel in the hand. The back panel is slightly textured and Intex logo on it makes this phone looks premium. Moreover, the phone is only 7.9 mm thick.

Display: A 5-inch display with an HD resolution is not a bad deal at this price, especially when it is powered by an IPS panel. The display of this phone can get really bright, which helps a lot when you are out under the sun. High contrast ratio and great viewing angles of this phone will surely take your experience to the next level.

Operating System: It is an Android 4.4 KitKat based smartphone that might be disappointing for many as other smartphones are offering the latest Android in the same price segment. However, the interface is fluid and snappy. Intex has done minor customization, but the hardware handles everything without any problem.

Processor Gaming and Camera Features of this Intex Smartphone

By putting an octa-core 1.4 GHz processor and 2GB of RAM on the Aqua Xtreme 2, Intex tried to give a direct competition to the smartphones like Yu Yureka and Lenovo A7000. However, users should understand that this phone features a MediaTek chipset that might result in heating issues and low performance.

Gaming: You will be disappointed with this phone if your main aim is to play graphic intensive games on it. There are some glitches in the software that results in frequent app crashes. But you can enjoy games like Asphalt 8, NFS Most Wanted and Real Racing 3 on this phone if you run them on moderate settings.

Camera: The camera department of this phone has attracted a lot of smartphone lovers. However, the actual performance of both cameras is not as great as you are expecting. The 13MP rear shooter does capture a lot of details, but the background processing makes the images look terrible. Users can record full HD videos on this phone, but the lack of Optical Image Stabilization makes the footage shaky. The front 5MP camera is good for video conferencing, but it fails to capture good quality selfies.

The good thing is its camera interface is full of extra features like Live Photo Mode, Face Beauty Mode, HDR and Smile Shot.

Battery, Connectivity and Sensors of Xtreme 2

One of the reasons why this dual SIM smartphone is not popular in the market is that it does not support 4G LTE networks. It is equipped with other connectivity features like USB OTG, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.

You can run all types of apps on this smartphone as it features all the needed sensors like Gyroscope, Accelerometer, G-Sensor, Light Sensor and Proximity Sensor.

Battery: Intex has an old habit of putting low capacity batteries on its smartphones and this phone also suffers from that problem. The 2000 mAh battery that the Aqua Xtreme 2 houses will not give enough backup to last even a single day.

  • High pixel density
  • Octa-core processor
  • 2 GB RAM
  • USB OTG support

  • Camera is not that great
  • Low battery capacity
  • Not good for gaming
  • Runs on a generation old Operating System
  • No 4G support

Verdict: Lacking 4G support and low capacity battery are the two greatest cons of this phone. In my opinion, you should restrict yourself from buying this phone as good alternatives are available in the market.

Intex Aqua Xtreme V

Indian domestic brand Intex renders precision and perfection in its wide range of smartphones. Particularly this year, Intex introduces neatly designed vigorous performer for gaming and multitasking.

The new Aqua Xtreme V sports a waistline of 6.9 mm and gross weight of just 119 gram. I am fascinated by this built, which delivers a new design line without compromising comfort and robustness.

Operating System: The Xtreme V runs on Android Kitkat 4.4.2 out of box that will not be updated to Android Lollipop as news confirmed. Although it does not have implication now but after one year the phone with KitKat operating system will be considered outdated since new launches will be powered by Android M.

Auto Call Recording: This is my favorite feature, which makes me stand strong as I can record evidence of misbehave from known and unknown caller. Particularly, the female user would find this feature useful as they are victims of the bad element in society.

Powerful Memory and Decent Gaming Experience

A smartphone is complete if it has minimum 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. Here, user gets 2GB of installed RAM wherein around 1.30GB remains free. Furthermore, user can make most from 13.33GB media storage from total installation of 16GB. Intex has done immense work in terms of memory management in the Aqua Xtreme V.

Scratch Resistant Glass: The phone features IPS LCD panel in 5 inches of diagonal size. A human eye is susceptible to maximum 294-pixel density that is the base feature in this HD display. Viewing angles are good, brightness distortion is imperceptible, and colors reproduction is also natural. I cannot say this is the best display for playing games or multimedia playback. Yet, you will not be discomfort having it in your hand.

Gaming: I am not a gaming geek, but most of smartphone buyers want good gaming ability from a newly purchased device. Fortunately, gaming is quite true here. Use gets a preinstalled complementary “Burn the Rope” game.

The Intex gadget does fine with all top line games in medium setting. One game, which I played was the Asphalt 8 failed to deliver joy in high graphic settings. The biggest hurdle gamer would get is not from main processor or graphic unit rather from the battery. Gaming is well above-average on this phone.

Battery and CPU of Xtreme V

I am disappointed with the battery backup. Octa-core processor and HD display sucks battery like Vampire drinking blood. A 10000 rupees phone with 2000 mAh battery is a joke. Gionee Marathon M4 with 5000 mAh battery available for a payment of just 15000 rupees. Intex smartphone concept team should do better planning.

Processor: MediaTek quad-core and Snapdragon dual core processor can handle all intense tasks with ease. Intex is offering Octa core processor supplementary to 2GB RAM and Mali graphic unit. The CPU architecture is robust does respond like a monster.

  • CPU: Octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, and Mali graphic processor unit
  • Memory: 16GB internal (approx 13.33 GB free for use) and 32GB SD card support
  • 119-gram weight and 6.9 mm of thickness
  • Sand stone finish at rear for better grip

  • 10000 rupees price for this phone?
  • No Android Lollipop update
  • Below average camera
  • Poor battery life

Verdict: In order to achieve the slimmest built Intex has compromised with battery life, which is indeed a poor thinking. With all features inside closed shell, the Intex Aqua Xtreme V deserves a price tag between 5500 to 6500 rupees.

Intex Aqua Star 2 16GB

Intex had launched the phone on the 27th of July 2015 at a small event. Since then it has been receiving praise from buyers. As the name suggested, the smartphone makes user happy with 16GB internal media storage and 2GB RAM. I won’t be wrong considering it a finely tuned gadget in terms of memory management.

Operating system: In spite of being the latest release, the phone seems to be back-dated or postponed release. Intex has been forefront in rolling out of Android Lollipop. The Aqua Star 2 runs on Android Kitkat 4.4.2 out of box, which is not a bad choice considering the Lollipop still in the primary stage of a complete roll out and Android M release is uncertain. Android Kitkat does fine for a budget device. However, since we are paying hard earn money why not demand the latest software and upgraded hardware.

Built and Design: Intex exhibits the best design line in this lightweight craft. I really appreciate Intex precision, which limits weight to 122 gram and thickness at just 7.9 mm. The phone looks cool yet trendy for YO generation. A metal ring that covers the front panel and the rear shooter enhance its rare beauty. We are giving full mark for the premium solid design ergonomics in the Aqua Star 2.

Performance Camera and Battery of Aqua Star 2

The phone does poor in day to day performance. Quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731 chipset is bad choice for lag-free gaming and multitasking. 2GB RAM and Mali 400 MP2 graphic unit both supplementary to the main processor fails to deliver fluid act.

Camera: Both camera 8MP rear and 5MP front shooter are just paper specifications. The primary camera is optimized for auto focus supports popular enhancement such as Panorama, HDR, slow motion recording and recording on voice command. Finally, I rate the camera management in poor taste.

Display and Battery: I will discuss both display and battery together since they are co-related to each other in the grand concept of a smartphone. The smart gadget sports 5 inches 480P screen offers a decent clarity, despite pixel density of 196 PPI. I am sure the end user will be satisfied for color reproduction and viewing angles as well as brightness adaptation. Yes, there is minor distortion in brightness and shifting of colors when tilted on an extreme angle. However, that could be ignored since it does not have implication in the regular usages. 2000mAh battery compliments the optimized display offers a full working backup on moderate use.

  • 2GB RAM and 16GB (approx 13GB for user) internal memory
  • Brilliant build and premium design
  • 122-gram weight
  • Video calling
  • Average Photography in low light due to dual tone LED flash

  • Poor Camera
  • Bad processor
  • Lags in the regular usages
  • Gaming is terrible
  • Battery back is the below average

Verdict: 7000 rupees is a high price for a smartphone, which is only good at exemplary memory management. In fact, there are many better devices from Intex in six to seven thousand rupees segment. If the Intex Aqua Star 2 16GB is available for a payment of 3500 to 4500 or 5000 rupees, consider it your next buy.

Operation: User gets the best of stock Android Lollipop that too in the latest version. For smooth performance, the Cloud Pace dons quad core processor of MediaTek clocked at 1.3 GHz. To complete the CPU ring, the phone bags 2GB RAM and Mali 400 graphic unit.

The MediaTek MT6582M chipset is widely used processor even in top smartphone models. Having most of 2GB RAM makes user experience really smooth and switching between apps hassle-free. In addition, it plays Asphalt, Modern combat, Dead trigger and others action games easily, but in the low graphic setting. Slight frame drop is noticeable due to a dull response from the graphic processor and poor refresh rate of the display, but that can be easily ignored in gaming excitement.

Media Storage Display and Camera of Cloud Pace

Internal storage of 16GB is absolutely right goes well according to current market standard. In addition to preinstalled memory, 32GB SD card support is indeed a compliment.

Display: I know many readers will question my wisdom, but 4.5 inches screen has qHD resolution based on a pixel density of 245 is absolutely perfect for this device running on poor battery backup. The display is of good quality makes web browsing and the regular smartphone experience exacting. Read also 12 Best Smartphone under 20000 Rupees This Month.

Camera: Smartphone camera management requires care and precision to achieve a good objective. Intex needs some more time to come close to Micromax, which itself lag behind Xiaomi, Sony, LG, Samsung, and others. The rear shooter with 8MP sensor is optimized for auto focus and shooting over voice command. The front shooter is 5MP bags a wide lens for selfiegraphy. This is not a phone for photography or selfie shooting. Yes, it takes snaps, but that is good for entertainment not to secure precious moment of life in the exceptional quality.

This Intex Smartphone has a Poor Battery life

I am not able to find words to explain 1700-mAh battery. Actually poor battery backup of this Intex smartphone would spoil user's mood often.

  • 2GB RAM
  • HotKnot Content sharing
  • Sandstone papers finish much like OnePlus One smartphone
  • FM with recording
  • Lots of free accessories on the purchase from the exclusive retailer
  • Lightweight profile
  • Stock Android Lollipop 5.0.1
  • Gesture support

  • Average Camera
  • Poor Battery

Verdict: All cons have been taken care by the Shopclues. Low battery backup gets covered by a free power bank has a capacity of 2800 mAh. On payment of 6499, the user gets the magic box along with 6999 rupees free accessories. This is a paisa Vasool deal never been noticed online.
