Spice Power S580

Generally, budget users do not get a lot of options to choose from. However, the good thing is, telecom revolution in Indian has been changing the market reality. Competition among the brands is on the rise because of which we are witnessing the launch of some quality feature phones almost every month. The Spice Power S580 is one such product that was launched in the third week of January 2016. At just 1495 rupees, it offers really a long list of features.

Attractive Design

From the looks, this device appears to be some premium phone of the pre-2010 era. The brushed metallic finish of the back panel gives an illusion that Spice has used metal on this phone, but that is not the real case. I am really impressed by the ergonomics of this feature phone.

Nosama Viraat

Those who follow my articles know that I always appreciate efforts of smaller brands. This is because these companies are ready to do those things that bigger brands cannot even dream of. Take the brand Nosama for an example. In mid-2015, it launched its Viraat feature phone that sports a big 4000 mAh battery. However, to get this phone, you will have to spend only 1,899 rupees.

Massive Battery: The Nosama Viraat takes a lot of time get charged. In normal circumstances, you will have to leave this phone attached with charger for at least 4-5 hours. But when this phone gets fully charged, the juice will last for more than two weeks, which is just amazing. It also works as a power bank.

Bulky but Comfortable Built

The phone comes painted in a black color that gives a nice appeal to the eyes. Its leather finished back panel is really comfortable and offers a good grip, too. Because of the huge battery, the phone feels quite thick but manageable. Its average size display produces natural colors and is good for video watching.

I do not appreciate the placement of torch here. The inbuilt torch sticks out on the top and has a great possibility in getting damage easily in day-to-day usages.

MicroSD Card Slot: You can attach a microSD card on the back to increase the storage up to 32 GB. Its media player supports most of the modern audio/video formats. But the processor of the phone struggles a lot when it comes to playing high-resolution videos.

You are also getting a 1.3 MP camera on this phone, which is not a big surprise at this price point.

GPRS Connectivity: The phone comes loaded with features like Bluetooth, Wireless FM, and GPRS connectivity. Inbuilt web apps give access to top sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Yahoo. But you will not be able to use WhatsApp on the Nosama Viraat.

Sansui M17

From a long time, Sansui has been trying to secure a reputable place in the mobile phone market. Still the strategies, it has been following are not driving any results. Last year the Sansui M17 was launched with the USP of superb battery backup. Currently, this feature phone is selling at the price of 1449 rupees.

Sturdy Build: The design of this feature phone is really appreciable. It comes in a black painted body and its outer shell is highly durable. The phone gives a comfortable feel in the hand. Its keys are big so that even senior citizen user will find easier to dial a number.

Big Display: Unlike most feature phones, this device features an impressive 2.4-inch display panel. Colors do pop out well from the screen. Texts are easily visible even if you are standing under the sun. Moreover, a display this huge will also be suitable for watching videos.

Good Connectivity Options: To listen to your favorite radio jockey, there is no need to attach headphone. This phone supports Wireless FM, which is an amazing feature. It also features Bluetooth connectivity that allows the users to transfer files easily.

The phone supports two SIM card slots on the back and supports GSM networks. However, the most disappointing thing is it does not offer internet connectivity, so you will not be able to access services like Facebook and WhatsApp.

Long Battery Life: Under the back panel of this phone, you can find a massive 3000 mAh battery. On a single charge, you will be able to fetch the juice for more than one week. But this battery will take a good amount of time to get fully charged.
