In this article learn about two advanced smartphones – from Coolpad and Xiaomi with ten core processors. Hardcore gamer would like these Deca-core smartphones. Even for productive usages like running video editor or creating long presentations, I find them the best choice at present. Priced economically these are such that should be bought without a second thought.
InFocus Epic One
Infocus unveiled yet another masterpiece that sets a new benchmark for a handheld gadget, a smartphone and effectively surpasses computing ability of regular notebooks. The Deca-core processor or 10-Core processor is the most unique feature of this device. It is, by the way, the first smartphone in the Indian smartphone market with a 10-core processor.
The smartphone bears full metal body with a curvy design. At just 8.2 millimeter thickness, I have to say – build quality and finishing is brilliant. Its curvy design appears bulkier at center and a lot slimmer towards sides. Using it by one hand is not a problem; it would fit well in regular size hands.
This is a dual SIM smartphone but with hybrid SIM setup. Users, therefore, would able to use either two SIM cards or one SIM and one microSD card. By the way, its internal memory is 32GB wherein close to 25GB remains free for the end users and external memory support is up to 128GB.
It comes with 4G connectivity capabilities at both SIM and it supports Reliance Jio SIM card too.
Just 3000 mAh battery might be disappointing but users will not feel much because here charging port is USB type-C and a fast charger (1.25 Amp) is also provided in sales box. The phone thus by using fast charging with a better quality battery – presents a deadly combination. It fuels up battery in much lesser time.
Talking about security feature, it comes with a decent fingerprint sensor, positioned at back, is decent and fast too.
The phone sports 5.5inch full HD IPS LCD display, made amazing by 401 PPI pixel density. Navigation buttons are on-screen powered by the user interface. By default, the phone user interface is using a black theme. I would not advise changing the theme until a UI update arrives. I felt some issue in applying other themes as they were not a perfect fit. It is weird, though. I sure this will come to Infocus design team notice and would be rectified much sooner.
The Infocus Epic One is running on the latest version of Android; having in-house developed, quite user-friendly “Inlife” user interface installed on top. Infocus’s Inlife user interface is smooth in use and brilliantly optimized for low resource consumption.
My laptop runs on a quad-core processor whereas this phone, which is truly epic, houses a ten core processor in its CPU. Coupled with the latest graphic processor Mali-T880, Infocus Epic One with 3GB RAM is a monster. There is the bunch of sensors too added for making it a true smartphone.
The Epic One plays high-end games with lots ease even in top settings. Thus it could be a wise choice for every time gaming if you could manage power bank assistance.
In terms of connectivity, Infocus Epic is a strong smartphone. It has lots of modern connectivity options: Bluetooth, 3G 4G, GPS, Infrared, USB-C type and Wi-Fi. And, because of the infrared feature, this could also be used as a universal remote for managing electronics in home like AC, microwave oven, fan, projector, DVD, setup box, TV, air conditioner, and others.
Infocus Epic One’s both cameras – primary and front does a great performance. Both supports HDR mode and PIP (picture in picture). Despite being optimized with efficient CMOS sensor, the primary camera is good in performance; although I was expecting it to be brilliant.
- LED Notification
- Brilliant Choice for Gaming
- No Heating issue
- Full Charging requires three and half hours
Conclusion: The Infocus Epic One is a brilliant gaming smartphone with Paisa Vasool specifications. Performance-wise, I have to say it is 10 out of 10. For gaming, too, it is a well-recommended smartphone. Despite heavy usages, body temperature even on rear side remains under check. The only caveat I could underline is 3000 mAh battery. Also, the 16MP primary with CMOS sensor is not able to yield impressive image and video quality as other smartphones with the same set of camera features could.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 64GB
If my reading of the upcoming list of smartphones is correct, the Note 4 will get the honor of being second Deca-core or 10-core smartphone in the Indian market after Infocus’s Epic One. The Mi phone is scheduled for February 2017 launch.
As it has been with all Note series smartphones, the Note 4 too is expected to be a best-seller. And, its specifications – as expected to be, would set a new benchmark for mid-budget smartphones. Mi Note 3, the current installment, is currently being sold at 12000 rupees, and as I have learned, with Note 4, Xiaomi is expected to maintain the same price.
Expecting your next smartphone to be a truly next generation smartphone, you have the choice either to wait for Mi Note 4 or trust Coolpad Deca-Core smartphone initiate up sales right now.
The Note 4 is a metal body smartphone, it weighs 175g grams – not very standard, though – but it is pretty much slim at 8.3mm of thickness. For security, it features a fingerprint sensor.
Its display specifications are as good as the effective display of Coolpad Epic One. It sports a 5.5inch IPS display with full HD resolution, and its pixel density, too, remains the same at 401 PPI.
In screen-to-body comparison, however, Xiaomi scores over Coolpad: Note 4 scores impressive 72.5% whereas Epic One is limited to just 71.5%.
Xiaomi Note 4 is no different than Coolpad Epic One as far as CPU specifications are concerned. It has the same processor chipset, a graphic processor, and RAM. Note 4 thus resembles Epic one in multitasking and gaming performance as well.
Onboard storage on the Xiaomi device is 32GB, twice what Coolpad offers on its Deca-core smartphone. MicroSD card support is also present, thus users could expand total storage 128GB more.
In camera segment, Coolpad scores over Xiaomi. Note 4 lists 13MP primary camera and 5MP front camera. Its camera application is made extensively user- friendly – provides options for better photo and videography. Essentially megapixel value does dictate how efficient camera performance would be. In fact, that depends on – how well the camera is optimized.
Which smartphone is better – Xiaomi Note 4 with 13MP camera or Coolpad Epic One with 16MP camera – can be decided when Note 4 is officially available for test. And, our opinion on the camera performance of Epic One is already known to you.
Only because of 4100 mAh battery, which is 1100 mAh more than what Coolpad offers with its first Deca-core smartphone, I would go with the Xiaomi smartphone. This makes lots of difference.
Interestingly, the rest of features of Xiaomi smartphone are as good as what Coolpad provides on Epic One.
Conclusion: Reputation of Xiaomi is much higher than what Coolpad owns in the Indian smartphone market. I must say Xiaomi has built its reputation by innovative, economical gadgets it has so far launched. But Coolpad is not far behind. I, therefore, would decide based on specification comparison of these two smartphones. I think Xiaomi Note 4 is a better choice because of strong battery life. By the way, the difference between both smartphones is just matter of 19 and 20. Xiaomi Smartphone is 20 and the Coolpad smartphone is 19.
