Nokia Lumia 925 Windows Smartphone

The new Lumia 925 comes in a new body design, best camera and worldwide LTE network support. Also, it is the first metal Lumia smartphone. It has been highly appreciated by real users. This is the first Lumia smartphone to have metal finishing, while the rest of body made in polycarbonate shell. Its design looks solid, strong and slimmer than the existing range of Nokia’s smartphones.

There is shining aluminium frame balances deep lavish black covered front and back of the smartphone. Side buttons in aluminium cap adds more to its standard look. It is 8.5 mm thick, 70.6 mm wide and 129 mm long and body weight is 139 gram. For stunning and unique design, the Lumia 925 stands along in the long list of Lumia smartphones.

Software on this dual SIM Smartphone

It sports 4.5 inches Amoled HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection. There is standard pixel density of 332 PPI, which is fairly smart limit as far as a human eye could find differences.

Nokia has used PureMotion HD+ along with ClearBlack technology. According to official notation on the PureMotion display technology

  • Automatically colour and brightness adjustment in direct sunlight.
  • Extra blacker and better screen
  • With 2.5X faster pixel transition speed let’s be blur-free scrolling or navigation.
  • In winter, you don’t need to remove your gloves to use the display as the capacitive touch screen will support glove touch.

I am really surprised to see such vivid, clear and natural display. Even readability in direct sunlight is surprisingly superb. The Nokia Lumia 925 earns 9 out of 10 for its display.

Before I explain the technical specifications of the 925, remember the Windows OS is design to consume less hardware resources than the Android OS. Therefore, most of Nokia and Microsoft phones have not so sound specifications.

Coming to the technical part of the Lumia 925, it dons brand new 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon P4 processor supported by a 1 GB internal RAM and Adreno 225 graphic processing unit. For me, processing has never been disappointment with Lumia devices. The same can be said about the Lumia 925. Multitasking, gaming or Social Media services can go hand –in-hand with the Lumia 925.

The Nokia 925 features 8.7-MP rear and 1.3-MP front facing camera. Nokia’s camera unit is certain on a step improvement with each new Lumia. This smartphone should be credited for its awesome camera features as it shoots the best quality raw images and videos in natural light and indoor.

Its primary camera usages six lens assembly of Carl Zeiss optical under the umbrella of the pure view technology dignified with optical image stabilization, autofocus and hundreds of image editing tools. To make your low-light photography professional, in fact there is dual-LED flash, which placed right above the lens. The primary camera supports FHD that is 1080P video recording and the front facing camera limited at HD quality recording.

Let’s discuss the image quality. In simple term, raw images are sharp, deep coloured, bright and own good details, subject to acceptance of multiple edit. There is proven record in the favour of Nokia for enabling its smartphone to a good low-light or indoor shooter. In my opinion, Nokia’s smartphone camera has always upper hand in low-light shooting.

The 925 is packed with 2000-mAh battery. According to the official fact sheet, battery gives 18 Days standby and around 12 hours of talk on the active 3G network. For me, the same lasted for a day and half on medium usages. I am a light gamer so consider it included in my medium usages account.

Connectivity: The Single SIM smartphone lists Dual band Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC, Wi-Fi hotspot option, USB 2.0, GPS and four active sensors.

►LG Google Nexus 5 Smartphone

Google’s nexus device sets benchmark to be followed by other smartphone makers. Google sets lesser MRP for high quality hardware than the leading brand of smartphone market. LG Nexus 5 is one such device which rocks even after a year of usages – a positive statement by one of my friends using the Nexus 5.

Look, Design and Build: In my view, its design is eye candy which attracts all generation. There is no extra ornament or metal construction; still you will find it decent and humbly crafted. I guess the Google wants to set a design phenomenon to attract all ages and class users. I am personally big fan of such design which brings sophisticated quality on the acceptable price. The Nexus 5’s candy bar design is measured in thickness of 8.6-mm and only 130-gram gross light weight.

OS, Display and User Interface : Google sets the term of engagement on the Web. Google’s operating Android – one such platform, which update and upgrade decides – how consumer is engaging with internet. Even before the launch of Android one, the Nexus series was first to get Android update which generally takes years in full roll out by other smartphone brands. Nexus devices do justice with Google’s innovation, features, and planning for the future.

Google’s nexus 5 baby sports 4.95 inches screen in full HD display (1920 × 1080 Pixel) wherein you get whopping 445 PPI pixel density. According to official tech specs, the display has true HD IPS with 16 Million colours under the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Only HTC one is one such device in market, which able to cross 468 PPI pixel density followed by the Nexus 5 with 445 PPI.

Performance of this Nexus Smartphone

Though it is a year old model, but it has the best class processor, found in most of today’s high-end smartphones. The Nexus 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor – lists four core with clock speed of 2.5-GHz. Under the hood, the GPU is supported with a 450MHz Adreno 330. User gets 2-GB RAM, out which 1.26-GB is available for end user consumption. I don’t think we have much to discuss on its processing ability. As long as I used the smartphone, there was no navigational delay, application crash, or dead hang issue.

Camera: Have you ever experienced blurred image due to shivering hand or unstable balance during image clicking? The Nexus 5 features 8-MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and gyroscope sensor to counterbalance for unwanted movements during photography. With FHD recording support, there are dual recording, HDR, photo sphere, touch focus, face detection and Geo-tagging features.

Battery: Lithium – polymer 2300-mAh battery lasted for two days on medium usages. If official tech sheet to be believed – buyers get 12 days stand by and 17 hours of talk time on the 3G network.

Connectivity of this LG Google Smartphone

Gionee Elife E7 Android Smartphone

If the Tech Guru India is to be believed, Gionee, Xiaomi, Huawei and few more Chinese brands will rule the smartphone market in coming years.   The Gionee seems to be moving faster in Indian market with successive launches. According to a branding advertisement, Gionee sales at least one smartphone in every seven seconds in India.

Look, Design and Build: The Elife E7’s uni-body design is packed in polycarbonate shell and has glossy finish at back which fortunately isn’t fingerprints magnate. It is available in multiple funky colour option. If you have been a customer of Nokia and Samsung smartphones, then you would find it thin and light-weight.

According to the Gionee India, the E7 is measured in 150.6 mm long, 75 mm wide and 9.5 mm thin while its gross weight stands at 150 gram. This phone looks awesome and strongly recommended to female users. The device is slim, stylish, ultra fast and available at affordable price.

OS, Display and User Interface

The seal pack device comes with customized Android jellybean 4.2.2 and upgradable to Android 4.3 and Android Kitkat 4.4.2. It dons 5.5 inches full HD display in resolution of 1920 by 1080 Pixels. Display is IPS LCD has 16 million colours and incredible 401 PPI pixel density. The unique display with IPS panel delivers good coloury and deep display wherein images and text looks sharp and natural. Also, Sun glare doesn’t affect much due the awesomeness of the display.

Gionee effort to customize Android is terrible. I took a week to become familiar with OS functionality. In my view, customized Android is big setback for the device. Copying Panasonic innovation, there is “Smart Gestures” features supports feature such as Tap-to-wake, smart answer etc.

There is 2.5 GHz quad core processor of Snapdragon 800 chipset. We highly recommend 3GB RAM variant which comes with 32GB onboard memory. You will never experience any lag or slow application response. Though most of processing strength is consumes by the Gionee framework which runs customized Android. Processing ability of the device is big plus point in my view. I never experienced any lag or application hang while using the Elife E7.

Camera: Gionee throws bombshell with 16 MP rear camera and unbelievable 8 MP front facing camera in the E7. Under the enhancement, there is OmniVision camera sensor and BSI-2 backlighting technology. Its 16MP primary camera can record HD, FHD, QHD video at 30/60 fps. There are some usual features found in most of the smartphones.   User gets burst mode, HDR, panorama, night mode, smile detection, auto focus features. Also, we find “V-sign mode” which automatically clicks photo while someone poses peace sign.

I am fully impressed with camera performance and certainly it is one of the best camera smartphone. Both sides camera do the excellent job in indoor and outdoor.

Battery: Equipped with 2500 mAh battery, the E7 does behave like a monster smartphone. Battery backup is pretty decent and lasts for a day and half on medium usages.

Multimedia and Memory

The smartphone model doesn’t support memory expansion with a microSD card. In the 16 GB model, the end users are benefited 7.5 GB storage and the balance storage is restricted for OS consumption and apps storage. Therefore, we highly recommend 32 GB variant as users gets roughly 22 to 25 GB for personal multimedia storage.

Gionee Elife E7 16GB Price In India

Gionee has messed up with Android Audio and Video player by customizing them. However, we still find it worthy because of DTS clarity. Phone speaker is not so loud and you need a decent headphone for audio entertainment. Video layer supports 1080P means Full HD video playback, but doesn’t give DTS audio output. Overall multimedia packaging in the phone is average and doesn’t impress me much.

Conclusion: Gionee has great sustainable growth in India. Even the brand understands potential of Indian market and making big investment for sales and services. In current budget band of 20000 to 25000, the Elife E7 32GB is a great choice. Once again I would highly recommend the smartphone for female readers.

Huawei Ascend P7 Dual SIM Smartphone

As predicted by the Tech Awaaz India show, the Huawei is one such company expected to rule the hearts of smartphones lovers in coming years. The Huawei Ascend P7 has been appreciated by end users, tech experts, and review websites.  Being flagship smartphone of the fourth largest smartphone maker in the world, the P7 has a lot to offer.

Look, Design and Build: There are not many changes in the design of the Ascend P7 than its predecessor. It gets strength from metal rim runs around edges, bottom and front curbs. Front has deep lighted display and rear gets shiny glass. Look of the smartphone is mind-blowing. Though it is available in Black, White and Pink colour option, but I would suggest going with White one which complements buyer’s modern outlook. For female buyers – Pink is a right selection. Its kinda design doesn’t reflect much in Black P7.

Huawei Ascend P7 16GB Unboxing

The P7 is ultra light and ultra slim. According to official data – it is 139.8 mm long, 68.8 wide and 6.5 mm thick. Its gross weight is just 124 gram.

OS, Display and User Interface

It sports standard 5 inches Full HD display with pixel density of 441 PPI. You will find IPS LCD panel supports multitouch and 16 million colours. The Display offers deep, clear, sharp, bright and bold icons and text. Clarity is beyond basic expectation; even small texts are perfectly readable. You can’t expect world’s fourth largest smartphone to get wrong in design and build. Its display offers superb viewing angle, but sunlight legibility is not so great. For display protection it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The P7 runs on Android Kitkat 4.4.2 and feasible for Android Lollipop 5.0.1 upgrade. Huawei usages its own user interface called Emotion 2.3. I am not so much impressed with Emotion user interface. It is heavy and creates confusion while you are switching from stock Android Experience to something uniquely customized as it is.

I am kind of bore with Snapdragon processor because of its consist stable performance. The Ascend P7 is one such smartphone for me, which brings something new to test and write about it. Rather than going into what benchmark test says, I would narrate my experience and users remark for its processing ability.

On paper processing specs doesn’t impress, but it does in real life. I had a great time with the smartphone. Every day usages are swift, smooth and application contention free. For gaming test, we had played Asphalt 8 and Temple Run 2. The smartphone handles rich graphic games extremely well.

The Ascend P7 packed with 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP secondary camera for selfie and VOIP services. Its primary camera is backed up by auto focus, LED flash, face/smile detection, Panorama and HDR. Also, it can record FHD or 1080P video at 30 fps.

Huawei Ascend P7 16GB in India

Camera offers fair exposure, deep focus and snap with good details. Quality and performance is not so great, despite being a flagship smartphone camera. Panorama and HDR mode function and output is fairly good, but not excellent. There is sound shot feature, first introduced by Samsung in its flagship Galaxy S4. I like the feature as it turns an image content to a full multimedia sound content. The feature adds a 10 second audio with the still.

The P7 is a good selfie flagship smartphone. 8 MP front facing camera gives fair exposure, clarity and brightness to subject pointed at. Huawei intention is clear to make it an all-rounder champion for better user response.

This Huawei Smartphone Battery Life

Non removable Lithium Polymer 2500 mAh battery gives decent backup. On medium usages, it lasts for a day and half. I used battery doctor app to slow down battery draining. With battery doctor, I got around two days battery backup.

Conclusion: The Huawei Ascend P7 is one such great smartphone on fair price, offers good features and performance. We may compare it with other similar price smartphone, but reality is the P7 is one of few smartphone which earns good point in every section of test.

Also, the Huawei has large history of engagement with Indian consumers. You can find brand services in all two or three tyre cities. In totality, with good local presence, long history of engagement with consumer, better packaging of the product boosts my team confidence in the Ascend P7.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo Smartphone

While the first time Samsung had introduced the Note smartphone, the Tech Guru India criticised that such big screen smartphone isn’t a feasible idea in long run. However, Samsung designers turned to be wiser than Tech pundits. With launch of Galaxy Note 4, Samsung has proved that it has the great understanding of user’s expectation.

According to user’s remark at online review websites, the Note 3 Neo is monster and does satisfy consumer with Paisa Vasool performance.

Look, Design and Build: The note device is 148.4 mm long, 77.4 mm wide and 8.6 mm thick. Its gross weight stands at standard 162.5 gram. It is almost identical to its big brother the Note 3. We see more pleasing matt finish at rear and thin bezel around side and edges. Feel more comfortable and easy slip-in to Jeans packet than big brother due to slightly smaller screen.

OS, Display and User Interface: Super Amoled capacitive touch screen has 16 million colors, HD (720 × 1280 Pixel) 5.5 inches display with 267 PPI pixel density. With multi-touch goes upto 10 fingers support run the latest Android Jellybean 4.3.0 and upgradable to Android Kitkat 4.4.2 and Android Lollipop 5.0.1. No surprise, we find TouchWiz user interface which renders awesome vivid screen, brightness, and natural color. Navigation and scrolling is smooth, but there is noticeable pixel drop and application flare. Having decent bright screen in a Samsung device is not a big surprise, am I right?

How great is the Performance of this Samsung Smartphone

The Note 3 Neo is packed with dual processing power. The First processor is Cortex A7 has four core and clock speed of 1.3 GHz. And the second Processor Cortex A15 comes with Dual Core and 1.7 GHz Clock speed. To support two dedicated chip, there is 2 GB RAM and Mali-T624 graphic processing unit.

Coming to realistic performance, despite having dual processor chips – the smartphone is loaded with lag. Frequent application crash, web page scrolling isn’t smooth during browsing, and navigation remains tough challenge. For me, having lag, slow performance, and frequent app crash have been big disappointment with the smartphone.

Camera: 8-MP Primary camera and 2 MP front facing camera is loaded with feature and application as found in Galaxy S4 and Note 3. Once again sulking backend process delays the camera application every time you call in. Both camera are capable of recording FHD videos with 1080P resolution. Image and Video quality is not excellent, but has satisfying quantity.   Pictures are taken in day light are sharp, bright, and filled with natural colour. Indoor or low-light Photoshoot remains big challenge for Samsung smartphone.

Samsung Note 3 Neo Battery Life

The Note 3 Neo is blessed with 3100 mAh battery. According to official fact sheet, on the active 3G network, user gets 22 days standby, 18 hours of talk time and 64 hours of music playback. For me, one 100% charging lasted for three days on medium usages. Battery backup is big plus point in the smartphone.

Connectivity and Memory: The Single SIM phablet lists standard Wi-Fi with Dual Band, NFC, Infrared Port, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB 2.0. Further, the end user gets 11GB onboard free memory out of 16GB internal storage of this dual SIM smartphone. However, you can expand onboard up to 64GB using a microSD card.

Conclusion: The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is not so great smartphone because of lagged processing. Still it holds a lots of respect because of total packaging. While battery and display are big plus point, its performance remains big setback.
