iBerry Auxus Aura A1 Review in India

We are looking at the newly launched four smartphones with Dual SIM connectivity below 10000 rupees budget. The quick review article lists feature and functions of the InFocus M330, Lenovo A7000, iBerry Auxus Aura A1 and Intex Aqua Power HD.

iBerry Auxus Aura A1 with Octa Core Processor and 2800 mAh battery

Small brands have a very important role in the smartphone market. They control prices and promise competition among the popular brands. One of the many small brands operating in India is the iBerry which has become popular recently with a new smartphone the Auxus Aura A1. The phone was launched last year and features some interesting specs that you would really want to know. The brand iBerry has also done a unique experiment with its availability as you can buy this phone online at the price of 9,990 Rupees.

Design and Display

The iBerry Auxus A1 is a chaotic phone in my view. You can’t decide what this phone is good for. It features a kind of glossy finish at the back that attracts fingerprint to a level, but at the same time gives a very premium feel. The part that attracts most is the side rim, which is made of metal. It is very strange that a phone with such a low price comes with some high-end specs and a metallic rim. Unlike any other phone in the market, the power and volume buttons are on the left side that can be annoying many times.

It features a 5-inch qHD display with a resolution of 540 X 960 pixels, which is quite low in today’s HD display smartphones boom. But even with the low density of pixels, this phone has a nice display panel. The colors are very natural, the black looks black and the white looks white. You can’t even find any kind of distortion from any side. Moreover, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass that will ensure a scratch free experience.

Performance and Specifications

The iBerry Auxus A1 packs a 1.4GHz octa-core processor (MediaTek MTK6592) that will give you more than enough processing power. If you are not blown yet, then the Mali 450MP GPU will certainly make you stop for a while and give this a phone a thought.

On the memory front, you might get a little disappointed as it only features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. You can expand the internal storage up to 64 GB using a SD Card though.

The 13MP camera at the back produces very sharp and detailed images. Image captured in low light were also very much crisp and noise free. At the front, the phone features an 8MP camera which will be enough for any kind of person whether he is a selfie lover or not.

The phone supports dual SIM, but only one is capable of working with 3G networks. The other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and micro USB also come packed. If you plan to use photosphere feature of the Google Camera then you might get disappointed as this phone doesn’t feature a gyroscope. But it features other necessary sensors like Magnetometer, Light sensor, Proximity sensor and Accelerometer.

The iBerry Auxus A1 is powered by a massive 2800 mAh battery, but only weighs 140 grams. This much battery power will give two days of power back up easily.

InFocus M330 with Octa Core Processor and 3100 mAh Battery

InFocus last month launched its first smartphone, the M2, in India. And, just after two months the US-based smartphone manufacturer is back with another device. The InFocus M330 really features some cool specs that you don’t see in its price range. It is exclusively available for the price of 9.990 INR.

Premium Design

The InFocus phablet does not feel cheap in any way. It gets premium look just with glossy matte finish and even enhanced by the metal lining on the sides. In fact, it feels very sturdy and compact in hand. It is a phablet, but the premium curvy design overshadows its hugeness. The speaker is on the back side, but the sound doesn’t get muffled as the grill is uniquely designed.

Immersive Experience

The 5.5inch HD IPS display gives a very great experience. The colors are very vibrant and the brightness just makes the display awesome. However, you might find the viewing angles a little disappointing, but you can’t get anything better in this price range. If you are a gaming guy, then I am sure that you will love this phone.

InFocus M330 Review in India

The big screen size lowers the pixel density, but it makes sure that the battery doesn’t get much loaded.

It is a beast when it comes to performance. The 1.7 GHz octa-core (MediaTek MT6592) processor coupled with Mali 450 GPU can take whatever you throw at it. The InFocus M330 phablet performs very well in benchmarking tests. In AnTuTU, it gets a whopping score of 31803.

This device will prove to be a Greek god for gamers. You can play almost any game with no lags and with much graphic details.

The phablet features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be easily expanded to 64GB with an SD Card.

On the camera front, it has a 13 MP rear shooter that gives crisp and clear shots. You will really get impressed by the details the images taken with the rear camera pack. However, you might get some grains in low light photography. Don’t get depressed if you are a selfie lover as this phablet features an 8MP camera on the front.

The InFocus M330 phablet is powered by a massive 3100 mAh battery that promises about 18 hours of talk time. You generally don’t get this much power backup by any smartphone available in 10,000 Rupees.

You can use two SIM cards in this phone, but only one slot is 3G enabled. If you are worried that you will not be able to use photosphere feature then don’t. This phablet has got all the necessary sensors like Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor, G-sensor and NFC. The InFocus M330 comes with all the common connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and micro USB.

User Interface

The InFocus M330 phablet runs Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box. There is no word on whether it will get the lollipop update or not.

InFocus has highly customized the skin of this phablet. There is no app drawer and everything is placed on the home screen itself. Though you can create new folders to make your home screen look managed.

Dual SIM Intex Aqua Power HD with 4000 mAh Battery

If you want a high-end phone and willing to consider the brand Intex, then the Aqua Power HD is a perfect choice. As the name suggests this phone has a massive 4000 mAh battery inside that will give it a great power backup. As far as the price is concerned, it is available at an affordable selling price of 9,444 INR. Apart from the battery this phone has some serious specs that are worth mentioning here.

Great Design and Display

The golden rim, matte finished back and the curved edges give this phone a very premium look. You can’t say that it is a sub 10,000 INR phone just by its design. In hand, it feels comfortable and the rim provides a decent grip.

Intex Aqua Power HD Specifications and Online Price in India

The phone features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. You will not find any kind of pixilation issues, thanks to the pixel density of 294ppi. The colors production is very great and the viewing angles are also nice. The touch sensor can sense up to 10 fingers, which gives this phone much utility.

A giant 1.4 GHz Octa-Core processor (MediaTek MT6592M chip-set) sitting in the heart eats whatever you throw at it without any issues. Sometimes, it gets hiccup while you are playing a graphic intensive game, but that is hardly noticeable in excitement of gaming.

The Intex Aqua Power HD features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage out of which 11.90GB is user available. You can easily expand the internal storage up to 32GB with a SD Card.

A 13 MP camera at the back generates very nice looking and well detailed images, but fails to perform in low light. The images taken in low light appear much noisy. It can shoot 1080p videos without any problem, but you will have to make sure that the light falling on your subject is adequate. The 2MP front camera might disappoint you. In most cases, the shots taken from it are so blurry that you will not recognize the subject in the final output picture.

One thing that might impress you a lot is the web browsing experience. Scrolling web pages is very smooth and responsive. While pinching to zoom, you hardly feel any kind of lag on this phone.

OTG Connectivity and Notifications

There is a notification light at the top right corner of the phone that will notify you of any messages. The phone features two SIM cards slots that can operate at the following bands- GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA: 2100MHz. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi tethering. The Intex Aqua Power HD features all the necessary sensors like Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensor.

As I have already mentioned that this phone packs a massive 4000 mAh battery inside and this battery can give up to 20 hours of talk time according to the manufacturer.

Software and UI

The Intex Aqua Power HD runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. It might be possible that this phone will get lollipop update as it supports OTA update. The UI is a little customized, but the overall experience remains the same as the stock one.

Lenovo A7000 with Android Lollipop

Lenovo has recently shifted its focus more towards the budget smartphone section and it seems that now it loves India. It has launched several budget level devices in the recent past including the A6000 smartphone and the A7-30 tablet both of which are considered great devices. Now the Chinese manufacturer has launched its next smartphone, the A7000, in its budget series.

This smartphone is performing very well in the market at present. It is available at the price of 8,999 INR exclusively on Flipkart via flash sale only. In the first flash sale, 30000 prices of the Lenovo A7000 were sold out within 4 seconds.

Design and the Display

Lenovo has done much work on the look of this smartphone. The finish that the Lenovo A7000 wears is neither a matt one nor a glossy one. It is somewhere between these two and it feels great in the hand. The smartphone is only 7.99mm in thickness, considering this; you can imagine how sleek it is.

Lenovo A7000 Specifications and Online Price in India

The Lenovo A7000 has a 5.5inch HD display with a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 267 ppi. The display is sharp and the colors are very vibrant. You will not see any kind of distortion or color change from the sides.

First smartphone to feature Dolby ATMOS

Lenovo claims that the A7000 is the first smartphone in the world to feature Dolby ATMOS. Those who don’t know Dolby ATMOS is a surround sound technology that gives cinema-like experience. It was announced in the year 2012 by Dolby international and has only been featured in a smartphone now.

Performance and Specification

The Lenovo A7000 features a 1.5 GHz octa-core Cortex A-53 processor (MediaTek MT6752m chipset) that can do 64bit processing. Mentioning 64bit processing is important here as this smartphone runs on Android Lollipop, which is the first Android version to support this kind of processing. The Mali T760MP2 GPU enables this smartphone to handle any level graphic processing with ease. You can play any graphic intensive game on this smartphone without any lag.

On the memory front, it houses a 2GB of RAM and a 8GB of internal flash storage. The OS takes a large space and you are only left with 3.72 GB of user available memory. You can expand the internal storage up to 32 GB using a SD Card and this phone supports moving of apps to external storage.

Although the rear 8MP camera is equipped with a dual-LED flash but the low megapixels can be disappointing for many. Smartphones from other manufacturers in the same price range offer at least 13 MP sensor at the back. It is not that disappointing though as you will get impressed with its low light imaging. Pictures have taken in low light come out to be almost noiseless. If you love sharing Selfies, then the 5MP camera at the front will prove to be satisfying for you.

Network and Battery

It is a dual SIM phone with one SIM supporting 4G. This smartphone is powered by a massive 2900 mAh battery that will give about 16 hours talk time (3G network) according to Lenovo.

User Interface

The Lenovo A7000 runs Android Lollipop out of the box. The Vibe UI makes everything much different from the stock UI of Android. The pros and cons will depend on the flavor of the user. There is no app drawer and notification bar packs much more toggles.
