32 inch Sony BRAVIA KLV-32R512C HD Ready LED TV
Sometimes popular brands start acting crazy and launch products without any proper strategy. I am talking about Sony here. All other TVs that we have discussed so far on this website come with great features in comparison with their price. But I cannot say the same for the Sony BRAVIA KLV-32R512C LED TV. Do not get me wrong here as it does come with a number of great features that are not available on any other TV in the same price segment. However, my main disappointment is with its low-resolution display.
Great Sound System
This television performs really great on the front of audio production. It offers 2.1 channel sound system, meaning there are two sub-woofers (8 Watt each) and one main speaker unit (14 Watt) on this TV. The audio that comes out is enough loud that you will not need an extra set of external speakers. It produces immersive low-frequency audio.
Great Smart TV Features
Web sites can be browsed using the preloaded web browser. Apps like YouTube and Skype allow you to get connected to the rest of the world. Users can also listen to their favorite radio station as this TV comes with inbuilt FM radio. Local languages are also supported to help the Indian users better understand the OSD menu. The display of the TV can be used as a Photo frame and can also display a calendar alongside.
Solid Build Quality
Premium quality materials make this TV highly durable from light collisions. Before entering the main circuit board, electricity first passes through a capacitor that prevents all kinds of damage resulting from power fluctuations. Moreover, the circuit board itself comes painted with anti-humidity coating. This TV is also safe from lightning and thunderstorms.
Apart from all the things mentioned in the above lines, this TV looks really great on the walls. Because of the slim profile, it feels like a part of the wall itself. However, if you do not find yourself comfortable viewing the TV is on the wall, then table mount option is always available. Thin bezels help in making users experience immersive.
Bunch of Connectivity Options
The two USB ports on the back of this TV give the user the benefit of attaching more than one storage devices simultaneously. Inbuilt Wi-Fi opens a number of possibilities. You can cast the screen of smartphones on the display of this TV. Files can also be transferred to the USB drives using Wi-Fi direct feature. MHL connectivity allows for streaming of data from the compatible devices. The TV supports DLNA, which means videos and sound stored on a hard disk attached to a wireless router can also be streamed.
Good But Low-Resolution Display
As I mentioned in the introduction, this Sony TV comes with a display that offers the low resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels. Even the HD videos cannot be enjoyed on this TV at the fullest. The good thing, however, is that this display panel sports wide viewing angles of 178 degrees on both vertical and horizontal directions. High contrast ratio and accurate color reproduction are some of the features that are worth mentioning here. Even though it is not a full HD display but the processor of this TV is capable of running full HD videos.
Your electricity bill will not get affected by using this TV. It consumes only 57 Watts of power at the highest settings and when it goes in standby mode that number drops to 0.5 Watts. Moreover, this device is perfectly safe from fluctuations as it supports a wide voltage input range.
- Ethernet port
- Inbuilt Wi-Fi connectivity and MHL support

- Wide viewing angles
- Clear Resolution Enhancer technology
- 1 channel audio with 5 selectable sound modes
- Indian languages are supported

- Smart TV
- Slim design
- Built-in FM radio
- Low-resolution display
This Sony TV comes with many impressive features. Wi-Fi and DLNA support are only found on premium level products. Even the sound quality of this TV is beyond expectation. However, Sony did miss a great opportunity of creating a great and affordable TV by not offering a full HD display on this product.
Sony BRAVIA KLV 32R412C 32 inch LED TV HD Ready
Everyone wants to purchase a quality TV from a popular brand. Customers have a tendency to go with a brand, which is old, reputable and releases a lot of ads 360-degree space. However, not all TV models, which are manufactured by famous brands, offer good picture quality. And, the problem intensifies when these TVs are priced more than what they are worthy of.
Last month, many readers had asked me to do a review on the Sony BRAVIA KLV-32R412C LED TV as this product is becoming highly popular in the market and comes at the reasonable price of just 27804 rupees. To help our readers in choosing a better product, I decided to do research on this TV. However, I was not very impressed with the results of my research. This TV does come with some exceptional features, but its flaws overshadow everything.
Low-Resolution Display Panel
The LED display of this TV offers a WXGA resolution of a mere 1280 X 800 pixels. Although you will be able to watch HD content on it, but the videos will certainly lack crispiness. Even the budget TVs that are priced below 20,000 rupees come with a display that offers a decent resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels. But the display technology of this TV is impressive and produces natural colors. Viewing angles are wide and the viewers will not suffer from color distortions while watching TV from sides. It is also equipped with Sony’s famous Color Resolution Enhancer technology.
Disappointing Connectivity Options
It was really disappointing for me when I came to know that this TV offers only a single USB port. Moreover, Sony has also not provided inbuilt Wi-Fi on it. What is the point of spending lots money when you are not getting all the connectivity features? Yes, having MHL connectivity is one great relief. So, you will be able to cast the screen of a smartphone or stream the files stored on it to the huge display of this Sony TV. Inbuilt FM radio also lets you listen to the latest songs when nothing interesting is being broadcast on the cable TV.
After spending a large chunk of salary on an LED TV, you will certainly expect the product to be durable. Well, Sony will not disappoint you on this front. The X-Protection PRO feature makes this TV safe from lightning, power surge, moisture, and dust.
If you are into music and can manage with a low-resolution display, then this LED TV can be a great solution. It offers 2.1 channel sound systems. The power output of each sub-woofer is eight Watts and that of main speaker unit 14 Watts. The Dolby Digital Plus technology promises immersive audio production and makes the users feels like they are in a cinema hall.
Loaded With Some Useful Extra Features
Although this product does not offer smart TV functionality but it does come with some mouth-watering features. Its display can be turned into a photo frame capable of running slideshow of the favorite moments of yours. The TV also supports local Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati.
- Highly durable, can withstand lightning, power surge and moisture
- 178-degree wide viewing angles
- 1 channel speakers equipped with Dolby Digital Plus technology
- Consumes less electricity
- Photo frame feature
- Local languages are also supported
- MHL connectivity
- 2 HDMI ports
- Inbuilt FM radio
- Onboard media player supports all modern formats
- Single USB port
- Low-resolution display
- Lacks smart TV functionality even at this price
Definitely the list of pros of this TV is long in comparison with the list of cons. However, these three cons are enough to break the deal. No one will buy a TV priced above 25,000 rupees that does not offer a full HD resolution display and comes with only a single USB port. Moreover, there are some brands that are selling smart TVs at this price.
