In this LED TV review article, we are looking deep inside the 40 inches Micromax FHD, LG 32 inches LED and our pick Haier HD along with Intex LED TV, which had a price cut of 50% recently. I am sure our in-depth analysis of these four TVs will help picking a good quality HD LED under 22000 rupees budget.
Micromax 40B5000FHD 40BSD60FHD 40 inches LED TV
Micromax has done really well in the market, despite being a new player in the TV business. Every quarter it launches a whole new series of TVs with better feature and improved quality. However, in real usages, those products failed to perform on the quality benchmark. The Micromax 40B5000FHD/40BSD60FHD LED TV was launched this year with a goal to achieve attraction among budget household. This FHD TV is for those wants a big TVs, but limited with budget. This Micromax FHD 40 inches TV is available online for a price of 23890 rupees.
It is a good looking LED TV with a glossy skin, but built material is in cheap quality. You will not like the built quality of TV and its cheap remote. In its body, bezels are not much wide that translates into a better user experience. We cannot demand for a slim trim TV in this budget. The thickness of 70 mm should not be criticized. Accessing the connectivity ports becomes difficult while it is mounted on a wall. Alternatively, it can be mounted on a metal stand that Micromax ships along.
The 40 inch display of this TV is supported by Direct LED backlighting, which ensures even distribution of brightness across the panel. Its full HD resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels provides a crispy movie watching experience. Micromax 40B5000FHD supports high viewing angles upto 178 degree and eliminates all color distortion effectively. It has a static contrast ratio of 2120:1, which is not a great specification, but not bad either. Gamers will not like this LED TV because of its low refresh rate of 60 Hz does not go well with ultra fast racing or action games.
The two 10 Watt speakers on the back are enough loud to make your home a complete cinema hall. You do not need to buy an extra set of speakers for this TV. However, we are disappointed to the low clarity in audio output. Loudness is good, but a sense of purity is missing that gives an uneasy feel. I guess I am so mesmerized in Sony’s rich sound output that I find audio output in Micromax FHD TV uncomfortable.
Unlike most LED TVs of this price range, this Micromax TV comes with two USB and two HDMI ports. The benefit of multiple USB and HDMI ports is that you can attach many devices at the same time. You can have one USB port for your external hard disk and other USB port for your pen drive. Moreover, all the necessary connectivity ports like VGA In, Audio In, Audio Out, Component In and RF In are present on this TV.
There are only a handful of features on this LED TV. It comes with the user convenient features like Sleep Timer, Energy Saving Mode and Auto Channel Search. You will be able to play media files from your flash drive using the USB port, but the picture quality will not be much impressive.
This Micromax TV consumes just 70 Watts of power and also supports a wide voltage range of 110-240 Volts.
- Low power consumption.
- Full HD display.
- 2 USB and 2 HDMI ports.
- Attractive design.
- Cheap build.
- Bad sound quality.
I would not recommend this LED TV, but if you want a big TV at an affordable price, then it is one of the best options currently available in the market.
LG 32LF550A 32 inches LED TV
India is an important market to Korean brand LG, which is why it has launched a number LED TVs suitable for Indian tech lovers. The LG 32LF550A LED TV is one such product that comes with many great features for an Indian home. You can purchase this 32 inch LED TV for as low as 22106 rupees. However, let me tell you in the beginning that this product is also not free from drawbacks.
I have become a fan of this TV, at least on the design front. At this price, LG is offering premium quality build on this LED TV. Its bezels are so thin that many times your eyes will not notice them easily. The outer shell of the TV wears a metallic finish, which is made with sturdy materials. You also get two metal brackets in the sales box to mount the TV on a table. This LED TV measures 56.5 mm in thickness and the gross weight is 5.7 KG.
The 32 inch display of this TV packs a HD resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels only. This means you will not be able to enjoy full HD videos. Besides few drawbacks everything about the display is awesome. It features an IPS panel that produces wide viewing angles and high contrast ratio. Moreover, the display will not create ripples when you press fingers. The Triple XD Engine of this LED TV reproduces crisp graphics in natural colors. Also, its motion refresh rate of 300 Hz (PMI) reduces blur from videos.
This LG TV comes with two 5 Watt speakers. These speakers are of poor quality and do not produce loud audio. However, the TV uses Dolby Digital Decoder for audio output, so using an extra set of high quality speakers will take your audio experience to a much higher level.
This LED TV comes with 2 HDMI ports and 1 USB port, which means use it as a display for multiple devices, but cannot connect multiple USB flash drives simultaneously.
The other connectivity ports present on this TV are RF In, Component In, Audio In, Audio Out and VGA.
The list of supported regional languages includes Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali and Punjabi.
This LG TV comes with localized attractive features like Bollywood and Cricket Mode, which optimize audio and video according to Indian content to offer a more personalized experience.
- Large display with IPS panel.
- Unique design with use of high quality materials.
- Dolby Digital Decoder.
- All Round Protection Plus feature.
- Inbuilt games.
- Smart Energy Saving feature.
- Not enough pixels to support full HD videos.
- Low audio output.
- Single USB port.
This LG TV is loaded with features, but few cons like low resolution display and single USB port cannot be ignored easily. Buying this TV won’t be a bad idea if you are ready to compromise with minor cons.
Haier LE32V600 32 inches LED TV
The Haier is a reputable brand in the TV segment, but its market has been constantly depleting. Its wide range of TV models is affordable and loaded with features for user comfort. The Haier LE32V600 TV was launched last year and is currently selling at 20890 rupees. This LED TV is a good choice for those want a quality product, but limited by the money in their pocket.
Even though this is a product of last year, but its design is really good and has potential to give a tough competition in this price segment. Its ergonomics will certainly attract you. The bezels of this TV are much thin, which translates into immersive experience to the end viewer. It is just 66 mm thick and the grand weight stands at 8KG. The design of the stand that comes along is also much attractive.
The TV comes with a 32 inch display that packs a resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels only. If you love watching full HD videos, then you should not consider buying it as numbers of pixels are limited to play HD videos only. It features an IPS panel that results in wide viewing angles and high contrast ratio. Moreover, the display is powered by Direct LED backlighting, which eliminates brightness differences across the screen. One minor drawback comes in the form of low motion rate of 60Hz. At this motion rate, it is not suitable to be part of a gaming console.
There are two 8Watt speakers on the back, which are enough loud for a small room. However, if you are planning to install it in a large room, then you would need an extra set of speakers.
This TV features two HDMI ports, which means you will be able to use it as a display for two devices at the same time. You can also find the other connectivity ports like RF In, Audio In, Audio Out, Composite In and VGA on the backside. The one thing that you will not like about this TV is that it features only a single USB port.
The TV comes with an Automatic Audio Leveler that balances the audio fluctuations of different scenes. You can also directly open media files stored on your USB flash drive. There is support of most of the audio, video and picture formats.
It consumes only 60 Watts of power, which is much less than the power consumption of a normal bulb at your home. Moreover, in the standby mode the same figure drops to mere 1Watt.
- Sturdy and compact design.
- IPS panel with D-LED backlighting.
- 2 HDMI ports.
- Consumes less power.
- HD display.
- Not much extra features.
It could have been a much better product if Haier had sorted out a few of its drawbacks. However, it is still a great TV for the price you are paying.
Intex LED-3210 32 inches LED TV
Following the footsteps of Micromax, Intex has become active in the television market in the last few years. It has launched many attractive TVs, but all suffer from one basic problem- crazy prize strategy on the poor quality product. We have already mentioned this problem in my last TV review article. Intex has a habit of launching its products with overblown price and when those products do not perform on the sales index, it drops prices drastically.
The Intex 3210 LED TV launched this year with a price tag of 23999 rupees. When it failed to perform in the market, Intex dropped its price by half and now you can purchase it for as low as 15990 rupees. Another strange fact is that Intex’s official website is still listing this TV with the old price.
Even at the new price, the design of this LED TV does not seem to be promising. Its bezels are really wide that do annoy viewers. The manufacturer has used low quality materials in its built. The remote that comes along is also not enough sturdy. However, the good thing is that the back of this TV is curved making it easy for the user to reach the controls. The TV is 6 KG in weight and 80 mm in thickness.
This Intex LED TV comes with a 32 inch display that packs a resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels. You will be able to play full HD videos, but the limited pixels of the display will not let you enjoy those videos at the fullest. The good thing is that you will not notice any kind of color shift from the sides, which really enhances the end user experience. However, it features a low static contrast ratio of 707:1 that can disappoint many customers. The TV refreshes its display at 60 Hz, a rate that gamers consider too bad.
Thanks to the two 10 Watt speakers that this LED TV generates enough loud audio. You will be able to enjoy all the movies and music without the need of any external speaker system.
The greatest benefit of buying this LED TV is that you get 2 HDMI and 2 USB ports on it. This expands your connectivity options as you will be able to connect multiple devices at the same time. This Intex TV also features the much needed connectivity ports like RF In, Audio In, Audio Out, VGA and Component In.
A special Auto Volume Leveler feature of this LED TV keeps an eye on audio fluctuations and balances them in real time. Its Eye-Safe-T matrix technology makes the display responsive as well as safe for eyes. It also comes with the features like Auto Channel Search and Sleep Timer.
During active hours, it consumes 60 Watts of power and the same number drops at 1Watt when the TV goes in standby mode. It is also equipped with a Smart Power saving feature that really proves to be helpful in saving electricity.
- Wide viewing angles.
- Loud Audio.
- Safe for your eyes.
- 2 HDMI and 2 USB ports.
- Consumes less power.
- Although it can play full HD videos but the number of pixels is limited to HD resolution only.
- Cheap build and unattractive design.
If you like a bigger display and ready to compromise with a cheap build quality, then this LED TV is the best option for you.
