Top 10 Smartphones Between 10000 to 15000 Rupees

We begin with a basic question how well one can define 10000 to 15000 rupees budget category. In the smartphone world, the price range is a Kurukshetra to fight real battle between brands.

Motorola was the first to intensify battle by drawing a red line with the Moto G1 launch. Following year, Xiaomi was defining the rules of engagement with new breed of smartphones at pocket friendly prices. Xiaomi’s rise has paved the way for Samsung’s sunset, which has been in a fool paradise after the great fall of Nokia.

Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML @ 14999 Rupees

The Asus 2 variant packs some of the best specs for greater performance deliver. Not anymore a Flipkart exclusive, it sports 2GB RAM, Quad core Intel processor and 5.5 inches FHD display protected by corning gorilla glass 3. The camera features are also great with 13MP primary and 5MP front facing camera. Presence of dual colour LED flash makes it a perfect choice for low-light photography. I vote for the Asus 2 ZE2551 ML 2GB RAM variant for robust performance, premium looks, and superior camera. The main highlights of this phone are USB OTG support, feasibility for Indian 4G LTE and 3000mAh sound battery. Read more about this at 2015 Asus Zenfone 2 Between 13000 to 23000 Rupee in India

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM @ 14000 Rupees

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL Review and Specifications

This phone is a gift for all Windows OS followers wanted a big screen phone with stout performance and a big battery that gives at least 48 hours of backup. Microsoft has been effortlessly clearing Nokia’s poor mindset for small screen size. The Lumia 640 XL is a guarantee for lag free performance from Snapdragon 400 new chipset. Do not worry because of 1GB RAM as Windows app consume less resources than Android app. 13MP camera has a BSI sensor for crisp clear FHD recording. 1G, 2G, 3G, NFC, DLNA are the main features of its connectivity. For better calling, heart-winning photography and long battery life I would recommend this phone. 4 Dual SIM Smartphone Under 17000 Rupee in April 2015

Lenovo P70 @ 13500 Rupees

Lenovo P70 Review and Specifications

This phone is a true example that having a tough product does mean success in the market. Not a popular choice in online market space – the P70 gets only five star rating from verified buyers. I have been optimistic about this phone for smooth performance and many days of battery backup. I made the selection since it has a 4000mAh monster battery. Some of the great features are USB OTG support, light-weight craft (despite a huge battery), and 13MP primary along with 5MP front facing camera. I cannot miss 2GB RAM alongside Octa core processor for lag free performance. For casual usages, this is a good phone. 4G LTE is supported, but it won’t work with Indian 4G band. 8 Most Reliable Smartphones in 10000 to 15000 in May

2015 Moto G3 @ 12999 Rupees – My Pick

Motorola has launched the third installment of Moto G. Once again it is the Flipkart exclusive. There are two variants – the 8GB model comes with 1GB RAM priced at 11999 rupees and the 16GB model has a 2GB RAM priced at 12999 rupees. Choose the 2GB RAM variant for lag-free easy performance.

  1. According to Motorola, the main highlights are
  2. Indian 4G support
  3. Water Proof
  4. 13 MP Primary and 5 MP front facing camera
  5. Snapdragon quad core processor

Motorola has not made changes in looks in fact the basic prototype remains the same. Some of the design and applications are recall of Nexus 6. Fairly, the Moto G3 is based the summary of Moto G2 and Nexus 6.

Water-resistant built and texture back panel are two main features. Moto G3 has an IPX7 grading, which makes it alright even down under 3 feet water for 30 minutes. Yes, its water resisting feature is tested and confirmed.

Let starts with the basics of the built. Power and volume keys that placed on the right sidebar wears nice machine finish textured metallic cap. The rear is covered by a nice texture flimsy back panel shelters a metal strip, which is a base for 13MP camera underneath is double tone LED flash and Motorola dimple. Coming to the bottom, there is a micro USB port works well for OTG support, charging and data syncing.2015 Moto G3 Sides Built Review

This is dual SIM smartphone has a dedicated port for SD card insertion. Although the back panel is removable and interchangeable, but advice is to avoid doing since that affects to water-resistant ability. In case the back panel is not fixed properly, you will be notified frequently until perfect fit is made.

Motorola offers this phone in two default colour variants – Black and white. We recommend White version the looks is much more glossy with premium. Also, there are bunch of branded colourful back panels and flip-covers available at Flipkart. Choose Motorola brand back-covers for supreme quality perfect fit to maintain IPX7 waterproof resistant.

Even though Motorola is no longer Google’s baby, but still has the first access to the latest development in the Android project. The Moto G3 runs on Vanilla built stock Android Lollipop 5.1.1. I am a firm believer of Android purity that comes quite true here. Except few essential applications, the end user gets a platform that is totally free from bloatware. I own a big compliment to Motorola and the same is a lesson for Indian brands that always eager to waste money in custom UI development. Big thanks to the brand for concentrating on hardware improvement instead of customizing Android.

Moto G3 does not offer a LED notification instead it has a display notification that indicates for incoming message, emails and various update alerts. User can review alert without activating the display. Moto G3 users will be among few to taste the upcoming Android M operating system first.

Moto Assist

This is one signature app for the time and schedule management. You can configure your sleep, meeting, resting time. Instead, the regular alert it will deliver notification just by blinking the display.

Calling Quality

One word review for the calling quality is brilliant. Past two installments of Moto G have been notorious for frequent signal drop and poor audio quality. However, The Moto G3 is very good for long hours of calling. Yes, you will get optimum clarity and loud sound output that can be easily heard in noisy ambient.

Moto G 2015 supports USB OTG. Play lag-free FHD videos right from the OTG storage. The front firing single speaker is really strong, delivers loud sound out. FM Radio tuner is also very good to play live entertainment programs.

The 5 inches HD display has a pixel density of 294 PPI. This phone is really good for outside usages. It maintains clarity under the direct sun-light to some extent. Display quality is quite impressive. Viewing angles are wide and you won’t experience much distortion in brightness. Colour reproduction is so good that you can feel yourself live with image and videos. Really sharp contrast and crystal clear display. Yes, I can declare the display free from any cons.

I am little disappointed with screen attraction for fingerprint. I had wiped out dust and touch marks every after 5 to 7 minutes. In the absence of anti-fingerprint coating, Motorola should give a Lifebuoy hand wash for bacteria-fee use of this gadget.

I really compliment the genius of Motorola. Such nice performance boost to Moto G3 is unbelievable. Snapdragon 410 has been made to work for the end user. Pure Android, zero bloatware with Motorola brilliance make the Moto G3 true champion in terms of smooth performance and usability. Yes, you can buy the Moto G 2015 for ultimate gaming.

Quadrant – 16151

AnTuTU 5 – 24221

Vellamo 2.0 – 1866

The Moto G3 features camera applications that were originally designed for the Nexus 6. The camera module is simple and really fast. Motorola has made this phone all-in-one champion, which includes Camera performance. The 13 MP primary camera is impressive and performs better than the 5MP front facing camera. The camera application takes snaps really fast in excellent quality that makes it a good alternative for a professional DSLR.

The primary camera is free from shutter-lag, but users do experience nano second delay in focus adjustment. Picture quality is really great, noise free, fill with natural colour with decent background detailing. Trust Moto G3 as a replacement of your current DSLR. Low-light photography is one area – even branded smartphone with dedicated sensor fail to perform. However, the Moto G3 won’t disappoint you. Yes, there is bit of noise in artificial light shooting, but you will be surprised with output quality.

In my opinion smartphone is designed for mass usages so the application simplicity has to be maintained. Indeed, Motorola has done the same. In the camera mode, there is a focus setting rings that hosts multiple camera adjustment to improve long distance photography.

I was expecting a unique feature much like the blink play to make selfie shooting much more exciting. Nevertheless, the 5MP camera is brilliant choice for a perfect selfie.

After the first boot approx 11.25 GB of free internal storage and 1.3 GB of free RAM were available for the end user. The Moto G3 gets the best memory management. A dedicated SD card port, USB OTG support, 16GB Internal storage and 2GB RAM. I do not think a user wish more than this.

2420 mAh lithium-ion battery is a power horse for long hours of backup. A basic usage would expend in 48 to 55 hours of backup. Medium usages will fire up upto 36 to 40 hours. However, a hard usage that is equal to 5 to 6 hours of active display will last for around 20 hours.

  1. Sides are bit slippery whereas the rear has a perfect texture. The balance of both makes it great in grip and hand control.
  2. Double Karate Chop for switch on and off the LED flash
  3. Best calling Quality
  4. Best Memory Management
  5. Lag-free and Bloatware-free Performance
  6. Pure Stock Android Lollipop

Display is quite attracted to dust and finger prints.

2015 Moto G3 Review and Specificatons in India

I am not in hobbit to make meaningless statement. Of course the Moto G3 is new ruler of the 10 to 15 thousand rupees segments. If your budget is 12 to 15 thousand rupees, then you should buy only the Moto G3.

InFocus M810 @ 12999 Rupees

Infocus M810 Review and Specifications

American brand Infocus is doing really well in Indian smartphone market. The M810’s golden built is a shelter to some of mouth-watering benchmark specifications. A quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor backed by a 2GB RAM, FHD 5.5 inches display and 2600 mAh battery. Infocus – as the name indicates is a true performer in terms of owning better camera specifications to a smartphone. 13MP rear and 5MP selfie shooter makes the smartphone a stout choice if someone looks for a Camera phone. Although my verdict for the M810 is “KICK” since it does not support to Indian 4G TD/FD LTE. Therefore, if you want to buy 3G phone with top-notch features – add the M810 in your list. XOLO Black @ 12999 Rupees

XOLO Black Review and Specifications

The XOLO black has failed to perform, despite a perfect integration of hardware, operating system and battery. This is a phone with next generation hardware and poorly coded user interface. I do not praise just because the usability factor is rock bottom here. Absolutely no complain in terms of hardware, operating system, form factor and battery backup. However, the XOLO’s push for HIVE UI has backfired. I won’t surprise if the brand launches a new version without HIVE user interface. XOLO Black with 4G and OTG Support Under 13000 Rupees

Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML @ 12999 Rupees

Wow! What a phone? The Zenfone2 is indeed a great choice in 10 to 15 thousand rupees segment. Asus did blander in naming of these variants. What is so much difficulty in giving decent name in order to avoid confusion? Recently, one of my friends asked my opinion for the Zenfone 2. I said yes it is a good phone – you can purchase at the current market price. His next question was which one? I laughed for his innocence. I had to mail the Flipkart link so that he makes a correct purchase.2015 Asus Zenfone 2 Display and Price in India

The main features of this phone are a quad core Intel Atom processor, 5.5 inches HD display with corning gorilla glass, 13MP primary camera with dual LED flash for better photography. I would choose this phone for slim outfit, mammoth battery power, and sound performance and certainly the USB OTG support. Read More

Xiaomi Mi4i @ 12750 Rupees

Xiaomi was hoping to maintain leadership position with a new benchmark setter the Mi4i, which is an update to very popular Mi4. However, the Mi4i has failed measurably in the market thanks to shoddily custom user interface the MIUI.

One myth has been finally broken that Xiaomi cannot get wrong. In the development of Mi4i, Xiaomi made mistakes at every front. We were not very interested reviewing this phone, but user’s request has to be honored. This review takes account after the MIUI update.

  1. Sluggish Performance
  2. Frequent Application crash
  3. Poor customization
  4. Limited space
  5. Dual Indian 4G
  6. Awesome Display
  7. DSLR type camera

First Verdict

In terms of performance and usability, the Mi4i is simply pathetic. You will be annoyed because of application delay, browser crash, and regular occurrence of camera freeze. As a reviewer, my top priority remains user-friendly UI and excellent battery backup. This phone might be a choice for those demands for excellent output, but has a casual tendency towards usability factor.

Built and Design

Xiaomi has built the Mi4i over a regular prototype without much change than its predecessor. In terms of positioning of buttons, on its left side has a dual SIM tray and right sidebar gets power button and volume rocker keys. The rear is covered with a non-removable back panel has glossy matt finish that hosts a 13 MP primary camera alongside double tone LED flash. The main speaker is really loud from the rear. This is Xiaomi’s perfect built feels quite compact and solid in the hand.Xiaomi Mi4i Review and Specifications

LED Notification

There is multi-colour LED notification that can be uniquely configured for each application individually. This is notification feature comes with a control button for better usages.

The 5 inches FHD display with a pixel density of 441 PPI is made to deliver contents in the utmost clarity. The display is fully laminated under the protection of corning gorilla glass 3. This is a fined tuned screen for watching of FHD videos. Excellent viewing angles, absolutely no distortion in brightness, sharp icons and decent colour reproduction.

Sunlight Display

This is a unique feature to improve screen readability under harsh sunlight. Active content gets light up excessively for optimum visibility outside. Great choice if you need a phone for clear display under direct sunlight.

Calling Feature

The call quality and loudness is much better than my expectation. The Mi4i works flawlessly over 3G and 4G network even in adverse network condition. This is a phone for faster 3G data download. In terms of signal up-time, Xiaomi has failed to give 100%. This phone tends to lose signal even in dense network zone.

The Mi4i features a long list of connectivity options. I did not face problem in using them in real condition. I would add my compliment for GPS navigation that does help with unexpected accuracy.

Operating System and UI

This is one big reason I hesitate looking Xiaomi phones. I am farm believer in stock Android OS. The Mi4i runs on Android Lollipop 5.0.2, but you won’t feel the Android as Xiaomi has customized heavily. For the first time, Xiaomi has fall in to self-made trap. The MIUI 6.5.5 works as an evil entity to ruin user’s experience. In fact, the poor sale of this phone is a clear indication that Xiaomi has to overhaul the MIUI platform. Sony, Samsung and LG were forced to do that now it time for this Chinese Indian brand.

For 4G LTE support, Snapdragon has engineered new breed of processors 410, 415 and the latest 615. Even though the Mi4i’s processor is the latest one, the end user gets really disappointed experience. Frequent application crash and response delay is unbearable.

If we can ignore lag, the Mi4i has much more to offer in terms of multimedia entertainment. The music player control panel is really good that gives greater freedom for personalized settings. In fact, during this review, I spent most of my time listening to music only. I would highly recommend the Mi4i for sweet music playback if someone can bear with unexpected lag.

I have already referred MI4i as a perfect alternative for a DSLR. Both camera does well irrespective of lightning condition. Please note, very few smartphones do well in artificial or low lightning ambient. With double tone LED flash, the 13MP primary camera gives quality output that is mostly expected from a premium DSLR.

The 5MP selfie shoot does well in ideal condition. My friend had secured few selfie in early wee hours. When other phones from the same price band failed to recognize face, the Xiaomi Mi4i took selfie in much better clarity than we had expected. Yes, you can buy the Mi4i for a perfect selfie.

The 13MP primary camera with super LED flash, powerful ZOOM and a branded sensor secures life moment in natural colour and decent background details. Picture quality in HDR mode will make you crazy (in positive term). If you are planning to make money by posting FHD videos on YouTube, the Mi4i at 13000 rupees is a cheapest and a professional camera solution for that.

The Mi4i is a failed smartphone. Choose the Moto G3 with pure Android lollipop experience.

Samsung Galaxy J5 @ 11999 Rupees

Samsung Galaxy J5 Review and Specifications

Samsung is like a typical Indian office boss does not want to pay more to employees. When a newly launched 6000 rupees phone has minimum 2GB RAM, Samsung gives 1.5GB RAM in an old fashioned smartphone priced at 12000 rupees. For the success of J5 and J7, Samsung had launched a massive online campaign to attract users, but failed to get noticed because of outdated designed and one year old specifications set in both galaxy smartphones.
