This article suggests most popular smartphones in the price of 15000 to 20000 Rupees for good gaming experience.
Samsung Galaxy S4
As of today, this is one of the best selling flagship at a throw away price. Recently, the Samsung announce a red carpet for Android Lollipop 5.0.2 roll out for the Galaxy S4. Therefore, this smartphone is no longer an outdated model rather a better alternative against some recent launches below 15000 rupees budget.
Gaming demands lots of on board resources. Here, we have quad core + quad core processor wherein each prong has a clock speed between 1.2 GHz to 1.6 GHz. Its chipset is Exynos 5 Octa 5410 is a multitasking booster. Powerful processor gets a 2GB of sufficient free space to stand out in random resource demands of HD multilevel game.
16 GB pre-installed on-board memory s sufficient to create media gallery and install many action sequence games. Those hungry for more storage for gaming should opt for 64 GB microSD card support via a dedicated SD card slot.
Size of RAM and strength of processor is meaning-less, if a smartphone does not feature a good display even though the touch panel is quite responsive. With the lasted display technology AMOLED, Samsung manages to deliver 441 PPI pixel decentralization in extremely bright 5 inches screen.
Bunch of sensors, which include Accelerometer, Barometer, Compass, and Gyroscope along with IR Gesture and Proximity sensor is making this smartphone a true champion for gaming. This is one my favorite smartphone for gaming, even though I am not a big fan of Samsung devices.
Asus Zenfone 2
A solid craft from the biggest hardware vendor in the World has more than we expected. The Zenfone 2 is breath of fresh air for performance, speed and features. Asus has started a new trend, which might get followed by the rest of the smartphone companies very soon. It has launch one model with mixed specifications at every price point. Huawei Ascend G750
This is not a latest smartphone model. However, its robust performance forced me to consider for the top 10 gaming smartphone count down. Yes, we have a smartphone with absolute gaming architecture from the fourth largest IT vender in the world.
For gaming, the Huawei G750 has a 5.5 inches phablet display with HD resolution and 267 PPI Pixel density. This is a IPS LED panel mounted to a response touch panel that is boosted from ultimate processor strength.
MediaTek processor is a disappointment, but eight cores wherein each core has a processing speed of 1.7 GHz is remarkable. Processor gets graphic support from Mali – 450 MP4 GPU and executes all gaming meddling process in 2GB of virtual or random memory. The Ascend is rated with good numbers among gaming smartphone.
Thus, we have phablet size good display, responsive touch and powerful hardware combination. Next, we will check the battery backup. How much battery backup a regular gamer demands? 2000 or 2500 mAh; what if I give you a lithium polymer battery with 3000 mAh power. This battery backup is sufficient for at least 3 to 4 hours of gaming.
A gaming smartphone without sensors is similar to a testy Indian food without salt. You can find much better specifications on less price, but all of them have a limited sensing ability. We have selected the Ascend G750 because of gaming sensors integration, next to the herculean processing power that is required during action games. It packs Accelerometer, Compass and Gyroscope sensors, which is must have sensors for a perfect gaming device.

One of the most discussed smartphone in Indian social media. The Micromax Yureka becomes the first smartphone with solid performance, 64 bit processor and Indian 4G support under 9000 rupees. Since, we are here to discuss more of gaming aspect of the Yureka, so we will stick to the gaming specifications.
Once again, we are looking into a 5.5 inches HD display with 267 PPI pixel distribution. The display is resolute by IPS LCD panel and corning gorilla glass three. You will not face any problem during gaming.
The Yureka had shaken the concessions of smartphone buyers with its 64 bit Snapdragon 615 processor that is an Octa core chipset, blinking at 1.5 GHz speed. Graphic processor is Adreno 405. In terms of gaming memory, a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB pre-installed memory exists.
Let’s recall the processor part once again. Snapdragon with the lasted 64 bit Octa Processor supported by a 2 GB DDR3 (the latest) RAM and 16 GB ROM. I do not think you need more than this in 9000 rupees budget.
Thus, we have a decent display and powerful gaming oriented processor. Now we are checking battery and salt, I mean sensors. 2500 mAh battery is not excellent, but supports well in gaming. Accelerometer and Gyroscope sensor is must for a gaming smartphone. Both sensors are present in the Yu Yureka.

Meizu M1 Note
The Meizu is a Chinese smartphone brand started operation in year 2003. It has been exploring opportunities in Russia, Ukraine, Israel and Hong Kong. In 2014, the brand entered in Indian market with few unique smartphones those are with a pocket friendly price tag. Today, we are reviewing the M1 Note that is terms as a new gaming champion in 10000 rupees budget.
The sales box contains a smartphone, a SIM tool, good quality data cable and a wall charger. Yes, you are right, earphone is not included in the box.
This is a good quality craft. The note has a gross weight of 145 gram and thickness of 8.9 mm. It has been made available in five colour options.
I am impressed with the built, despite an element of uniqueness is missing. This is a unibody design wherein battery is completely seal-packed. Volume rocker are placed at the left side and the right side is completed with a SIM trey. Power button is placed at the top and just right next is secondary noise cancellation microphone and a 3.5 mm Audio Jack. Primary microphone, mini USB port along with noise cancellation mike and main speaker finds place at the bottom of this phone. At the rear, you will see a 13 MP primary camera that sits right above dual LED flash.
OS and UI
The smartphone runs on Android Kitkat 4.4.4 and the Lollipop roll out is expected. Although for the Android Lollipop roll-out, an announcement yet to be made by the brand. A customized user interface replaces the native Android UI wherein all icons replaced to homepage. Few good apps are pre-installed that is really good for the end users. The brand has restrained itself in putting nose in user’s customization. Less pre-installed apps means more RAM space for users to install many applications and games.
This is a light weight user interface with much easier navigation. You need some time to get use to this. However, once become friendly to the UI, you will find Android UI slow in navigation because of extra steps. I am for this UI as it effectively eliminates unwanted steps while navigation across the phone.
This smartphone is a good example of better management of screen size. According to official website 73% of screen is transferred to real display. Please consider it is much better than usually seen body ration of 67.6 or 69.9%.
The M1 Note sports a 5.5 inches FHD display wherein pixel density is 401 PPI. Elucidate display is built upon IPS LCD frame whereas the latest version of corning gorilla glass takes charge for frontal protection against scratch and sudden fall.
It is a fully laminated display with excellent viewing angle. You will not experience brightness distortion, color shifting or pixilation, despite extreme tilting on an extreme angle. For gaming and regular multitasking, user gets extremely responsive touch panel.
The rear camera is 13 MP and front facing camera is 5 MP. 13 MP primary camera is backed by a dual LED flash and it can record FHD video at 30 frame per second. 4X digital zoom are something gives a balance exposure to the long distanced objects.
Face detection, HDR mode, touch to focus, and Geo tagging are preset tools with camera application. Also, several modes are available including scan, auto and manual. In manual mode, you can set focal length, ISO, exposure level, shutter speed and other control. Camera enthusiast has quite a lot to play with.
Coming to the front camera, you have a decent 5 MP Selfie shooter with wide angle lens. Also, you can opt for HD video or FHD video calling either on 3G or 4G network. This is one of few smartphone with decent front facing camera and real FHD recoding in a basket of smartphone, tagged with 10000 rupees price.
We are giving good marks for the camera performance. However, we cannot ignore minor issues in attempt of achieving better photography. Primary camera does struggle in focus at object after regular photography.
For the excellent gaming performance, the M1 Note packs an Octa core processor of MediaTek, which has a clock speed of 1.7 GHz. Performance is getting much appreciated while the latest Mali processor joins with 2GB of RAM. The end user gets play into 1.3 GB of free RAM and 12 GB of free storage after the first boot.
Limited 12 GB ROM goes against the concept of a true gaming smartphone. However, its performance is amazing for all kinds of gaming. Thus, if can ignore limited storage lacking, this is a smartphone to look around 10000 rupees budget. For limited storage, user has an option to use a dedicated OTG pan drive. Yes, the Meizu M1 Note supports OTG.
We cannot confirm on the real battery backup. However, our research shows users are driven to 30 to 34 hours of backup against medium usages. In fact, the 3140 mAh Lithium-ion battery will last longer while gaming.
Connectivity and Multimedia Valuation
This is a 4G smartphone, but does not support to Indian TD-LTE band. Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G and OTG are main high lights of the connectivity options. You can play FHD video with good sound output. I am surprised to see missing FM. This is not good news and goes against this smartphone.
Sensors and Benchmarks
The M1 Note scores 36841 on the most followed AnTuTU benchmark. This score is better than the performance of LG G3 and HTC One and Xiaomi Redmi Note. In terms gaming sensors, user will get Accelerometer, Compass, Gyroscope, Hall, Light and Proximity sensor. Accelerometer and Gyroscope is two main sensors for gaming performance boost.
- User interface is new, fresh, lite and easily navigated.
- Images are captured quickly
- Output image has object in focus, filled with natural color and less color noise as well.
- 5 MP Selfie shoot is excellent
- Pinch to Zoom is very fluent
- Double Tap to Wake
- Long Press home button to sleep
- Camera auto focus is bit slow.
- The back panel is too glossy, thus quite slippery in hand. You need an extra back cover.
- MicroSD card support is missing. Thus, you are limited at 16 GB on board memory.
- No FM
