If you follow tech news regularly, you might remember that Sony had launched few devices in February of this year just before the start of MWC 2015. The Sony Xperia E4G Dual was one of the devices that were launched back then. However, it took quite a good time for this smartphone to come to India.
We would like to inform you, the Sony Xperia E4G Dual is just a 4G version of the Sony Xperia E4 Dual smartphone. Currently, this smartphone is being sold with a price tag of 12430 INR.
The Sony E4G Dual does not feature anything new on the design front. It looks much similar to its one month old companion, the Sony Xperia E4 Dual. For those who want a new design every time, this phone might be a big disappointment. The soft touch back panel is really sturdy and because of matte finishing you will not have to worry about fingerprints mess.
A 4.7 inch display with qHD resolution of just 960 X 540 pixels will certainly prove to be the least desirable feature at this price point. Graphics do not appear to be sharp on this phone because of the low pixel density of 234 ppi. It is an IPS panel so you will get some relief at least on the viewing angle front. The screen of this smartphone also gets much brighter to help you read text under direct sunlight. There is a layer of scratch-resistant glass on top the display that saves it from everyday experiences.
Sony might be expert of making camera sensors, but it fails to make quality camera smartphones in the budget segment. You will find a 5 MP camera with basic optimization on the back of this smartphone. If you really love smartphone photography, then you should not even consider buying this phone. There is a single LED flash that helps in low light imaging. One of the few great features of the rear camera is you can record full HD videos for commercial usages.
Again selfie lovers will certainly get disappointed with a 2 MP front facing camera of the Sony Xperia E4G Dual. However, there are a lot of cool camera features, which will entertain you if you love playing with photographs.
Performance (Storage, Benchmarks, Gaming and Everyday Usage)
The Sony Xperia E4G Dual comes with a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor (MediaTek MT6732 chipset). This processor is great for handling intense tasks, but a limit will be put by the low 1 GB RAM of this smartphone. The good thing is that all graphic processing on this phone are taken care by a Mali-T760 MP2 GPU. You get an 8 GB of onboard storage on the Sony Xperia E4G Dual, which is expandable up to 32 GB via a micro SD card.
This smartphone gets pretty decent scores in all the benchmarking tests. Antutu returns this phone a decent score of 22542. In Geekbench 3, the Sony Xperia E4G Dual leaves behind Moto G 2014 and Xiaomi Redmi 1s with a score of 2111. This smartphone also manages to get a score of 4992 in 3DMark.
You will not be able to play every game on this phone, but that does not mean you cannot do gaming at all. Games like Asphalt 8, Real Racing 3 and Dead Trigger 2 are easily playable on it.
The Sony Xperia E4G Dual is a great phone when it comes to everyday usage. Its software is much more reliable and you will not notice any lags or stutters during the use.
This smartphone supports to Indian 4G networks. There are also two SIM card slots on this phone, which is denoted by its name. The list of basic connectivity options on the Sony Xperia E4G Dual includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and micro USB.
The sensors that are featured on this phone are Accelerometer and Proximity Sensor. It is a much disappointing thing that this smartphone does not even feature an Ambient Light Sensor.
The Sony Xperia E4G Dual runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Of course, it is not a great deal to buy this phone when even low budget smartphones currently available in the market are running on Android Lollipop.
The skin that this smartphone runs on top of the OS is pretty smooth and you will not face much difficulty in operating it.

If Sony is really taking the budget segment seriously, then it should focus on overall experience of the phone.
