About a month ago Micromax added a third installment to its Unite series. The Micromax Unite 3 Q372 was launched with a price tag of 6999 INR, but you can grab this phone for just 6043 INR in the present day. It is a great phone for those who want use smartphone in native mother tongue language.
Micromax did extensive online promotion of this phone. If you watch YouTube videos, then you might have come across the ads. However, it is not a performer and you should not put this phone on your list if you want the best features for the price you pay.
The Micromax Unite 3 features a much improved design than its predecessor. It carries the same material that most of the smartphones launched by Micromax this year carry. Due to its medium size, you can put this phone in the smallest of pockets.
This smartphone sports a 4.7 inch display with a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. Its pixel density of just 199 ppi is much low when compared to other phones of this price segment. Because of IPS LCD panel, wide viewing angles enhance user’s experience. The display of this smartphone also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Compared to a generation old Unite 2, the Micromax Unite 3 features an improved 8 MP camera on the back. You can capture stunning images with great details in bright day light. But as you move indoor in uneasy lighting, noise will start showing up on the screen. Video recording is also limited to 720p only.
The front camera is 2 MP, which does not have potential to impress user with a great selfie output. However, you can do decent quality video conferencing with it.
The camera interface comes with cool features like Beauty Mode, Live Photo Mode, Multi Angle View Mode and Panorama Mode.
The Micromax Unite 3 features a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor running on a MediaTek MT6582M chipset. This much processing power coupled with 1 GB makes this phone nothing more than a daily driver. User gets an 8 GB of onboard storage that can be expanded up to 32 GB more via a micro SD card.
The Mali-400MP2 GPU helps this phone to get a surprising score of 64.2 fps in Nenamark 2 benchmarking. Quadrant returns a score of 5455 while in AnTuTU benchmarking test this phone manages to get a decent score of 20711.
You can play games like Asphalt 8, GTA Vice City and Dead Trigger 2 on this phone. However, extreme graphic intensive games like NOVA 3 will result in frequent frame drops.
This smartphone comes with dual SIM slots and also supports 3G networks. But lack of 4G LTE support will prove to be disappointing for many. All other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and micro USB are present on this phone.
The Micromax Unite 3 can only run the basic utility apps as the list of sensors on it just includes Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor and Ambient Light Sensor.
This smartphone carries in a 2000 mAh battery that can give about 8 hours of talk time. If you are a heavy gamer, then you will have to carry a charger along.
