Sansui SKY48FB11FA 48 inches Full HD LED TV
Before I get into details of this Sansui LED, let me ask a question. How much money would you be willing to spend on a 48-inch TV has no extra and special features? No one would buy a television this big that does not even come with Smart TV functionality.
However, for the sake of argument, let us say you will buy it anyway. In that case, it is quite possible you think of a budget somewhere between 32 to 40 thousand rupees. Am I right? You will agree with me, anything above 40000 rupees for a 48-inch LED TV is just ridiculous in today’s cutthroat competition.
The Initial discussion is just a build up to decide on a much bigger question. Why Sansui thinks, Indian customer should pay whopping 48000 rupees for its brand new full HD LED TV (model number SKY48FB11FA)?
The price of this Sansui television got me curious about its features. I decided to have a better look and present a test report to unravel the real story that helps you decide on it.
Bigger, Brighter, and Beautiful
Without a doubt, the Sansui television comes with one of the most appealing displays in Full HD TV segment. A screen that is 48 inches wide (diagonally) will suit the needs of any room no matter how big it is. The side bezels are thin helps a lot in making user’s experience more immersive.
Moreover, it offers the best possible viewing angles, which means your whole family can watch movies together without scuffle for the center seat. I have also become a fan of the vibrant colors that the display generates.
The screen resolution of this TV is limited to 1920 X 1080 pixels. There are brands offer 4K TVs in this price range. However, experts say 4K is a good choice only if you consider minimum 65-inch screen.
An Outer Shell That Adds To the Beauty of Your Room
Following the footprints of its competitors, Sansui has also decided to go with the dual-leg stand for this TV. The product itself is quite thin. The manufacturer has also given slight curves to all four corners of the outer shell to make it a little more appealing.
I am not very impressed with overall built quality of this Sansui TV. It does not even feel premium, which is a necessary feature in order to sell more.
Decent Connectivity Options
Sansui was kind enough to provide four HDMI ports on the back of this 1080P LED.
Two USB ports really expand user’s connectivity options. You can reserve one port for an external Hard Disk while using another for thumb drives. All other basic connectivity ports like VGA, RF In and Component In along with ARC functionality are present on this TV.
You can cast smartphone activity on this 48-inch screen using the present MHL feature. Now let entire family see the priceless moments captured by your smartphone camera. However, do not consider it for streaming games because the high latency degrades the whole smartphone gaming experience.
- Big display
- Great viewing angles
- Amazing color reproduction
- MHL and ARC functionality
- Two USB ports
- Superb design
- Average Build quality
- It is not a smart TV
- Offers Full HD resolution only
After going through all pros and cons, I am sure, even with a 1080P display, the LED should not cost more than 30000 rupees. Sansui needs to cut its price by at least 15000 rupees. At the current market price, which is close to 50000 rupees, we definitely rate it KICK.

43 Inch LG LED TV 43LF540A with Full HD Display – My Pick
In the last few years, Indian TV market has been widely dominated by desi brands like Vu, Noble, Videocon, BPL, Onida, and Micromax. However, LG is only MNC brand has been giving tough resistance to these aggressive Indian TV manufacturers.
LG maintains its leadership with good quality product at every price point as well as the launch of upgraded new TV models regularly. A recent survey shows, Indian middle-class consumer trusts this Korean company without a second thought.
Super Built Quality and Attractive Design
The LG TV is made of premium quality material and it will easily observe light collision and low-intensity fall. A perfect installation at a safe place will ensure it continues to entertain your family for many years to come. It has a 43-inch screen with very narrow bezels that present a theater-like experience in the home. Control options are presents on the rear and on the side.
Wall mount installation is the safest way to fix a TV. For a tabletop installation, the LG TV comes with a two-foot setup made of steel, which is even perfectly balanced to ensure full safety.
Full HD IPS Display
If you want a 4K TV, then make sure the TV has the screen size not less than 65-inch. A 50-inch television set with 4K resolution is a waste of money. In India, where most of television channels telecast content either in SD or in HD format, choosing a 4K television is a bad decision.
Now, since 4K television is out of your priority list, the best thing you can do is to buy an FHD TV with IPS panel for an excellent viewing experience. In India, an FHD TV with IPS panel is the best choice.
The LG 43LF540A is a 43-inch Full HD TV with an IPS panel shows everything crisp and clear. It offers life-like color and excellent movie and TV watching experience. Moreover, it supports wide viewing angle that results in clear viewing for everyone in your family irrespective of their sitting position and place.
Support to Multiple Aspect Ratio
The television set supports basic to standard almost all aspect ratios namely 16:9, 4:3, 14:9, Zoom and Cinema Zoom. 16:9 aspect ratio support means you will be able to see FHD video in the correct frame. 4:3 ratio is most suited to watch news channels, SAB TV, Sun TV and other Indian television channels.
Its default Zoom features let you focus a bit deeper into a frame whereas use cinema Zoom to do the same work while watching a movie.
Usable in every village and City of India
Support to a wider voltage input range results in its spark free uses even in the village area. The voltage support range of 100 to 240V tells- no disturbance in watching live TV shows even when your area suffers from low voltage issue.
Mediocre Audio System
Last night I was looking into an LG monitor costs just 12000 rupees but had a 10W audio system. However, the same 10W sound output on an FHD TV is unacceptable when the cost of it is three times more.
LG should have given at least 20W speaker with power hardware to enhance audio output. My suggestion is buying an additional speaker set along with this LED TV.
User Interface in Indian Languages
If I am not wrong, LG is the first MNC brand to Indianise entire TV range. The user interface of this full HD TV is very easy to access in Indian languages. I appreciate LG’s steps to India consumers.
Is it for Gaming?
No. This 43-inch LED is good for seeing movies, home videos, and TV shows. I will not encourage using it with a gaming console.
- LG promise for excellent customer service
- Sound with rich bass and excellent clarity
- Very natural color in frame
- Super Built quality
- Not very loud audio system
- Poor Connectivity options
- MHL Feature not included
Without a second thought, go for this LG full HD LED TV. Place an order for a soundbar (F&D soundbar costs only 900 rupees), as I feel 10W speaker is not loud enough. With excellent built, super picture quality and clear sound, this is a good model in 43-inch LED segment.
Haier has been trying everything to secure a good place in Indian electronics market. However, despite unprecedented hard work, its efforts have not yielded any juicy result. My understanding is there can be only two reasons behind this. First, customers do not like this brand, which I do not think is the real case. Second, there is something wrong with the approach that the manufacturer has been following.
Just a few months before, Haier had launched its brand new (LE40B8000) full HD LED TV. The first impression of this TV was a big surprise for me. However, when I looked at the specs sheet, it becomes clear that the TV model is just a duplication of one of the earlier launches by Haier. Read it precisely as old wine in a new bottle.
However, before making an opinion so blunt, we should, at least, look at the features that the Full HD LED has to offer.
I have to say here, Haier has done a tremendous design job on this television set. It comes with a much slim profile and a dual-leg stand. The pitch-black front panel gives a premium feel even when the TV is off.
It is made up of durable and high-quality materials. The design of the back panel will also impress you. All the connectivity ports are placed in sideways position so that the users can access them even if there is limited space on the back.
Disappointing 1080P Screen
Besides full HD resolution, huge screen size is one big attraction of this Haier LED set. The 40-inch LED Backlit panel does help in enhancing the experience, but its quality is not up to the mark. Here, viewing angles are limited and the color accuracy is in question. The only thing that I can appreciate here is the full HD (1920 × 1080 Pixels) resolution helps in generating crispy graphics.
Certainly, I would not suggest this LED TV for gaming purpose. It offers a much higher response time of 8.5 ms (should be less than 5 ms) and motion refresh rate of below 100 Hz.
Low Volume Audio
Haier has equipped this product with a set of two 8-Watt speakers. These speakers do offer full range audio but their loudness is not that impressive. Without loud and clear audio, you will not enjoy TV shows even on a big full HD screen.
Average Connectivity Options
On the back, this TV only features a single USB port. Two HDMI ports are good but they do not provide any kind of advantage when Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity is common among big screen LEDs.
- Good build quality
- Attractive design
- Big screen
- Full HD resolution
- Single USB port
- Low audio RMS output of just 16 watts
Do not buy this Haier LED television. I am sure you will never get such straightforward opinion. In the above-said description, I have given enough details, as why this is not a good product. You cannot attach multiple USBs to it, viewing angles are not very impressive, and because of poor its response time & motion refresh rate it cannot part of a gaming setup.
