LG Dishwasher D1452CF: A Boon for the Kitchen or Just a Waste of Money?
Kitchen is not easy to manage. My mom has to spend many hours in the kitchen every day just to manage routine cooking for every member of my family. Although she pretends to have good comfort there managing all activities but I can feel the pressure she goes through in cooking, serving food, cleaning the area, and most tedious work in any kitchen that is cleaning all dishes.
I cannot imagine how hard it is for my mother to make food, manage stock and do the dishes two times every day. Mothers are very good at suppressing their feelings, though it is my duty to help her in every possible way. I decided to purchase a dishwasher for her.
While doing an online research, LG’s D1452CF Dishwasher caught my eyes with a premium design and some extra-ordinary features. Before placing an order, though, I had to think twice because of its price tag of 45,500 rupees.
One can easily buy a decent dishwasher in 35,000 rupees (approx); but, the extra 10,000 rupees this LG product demands is something to be considered. So, what special features does the LG dishwasher offer to customers? Let us find out.
A Perfect Setup for Every Kitchen
The LG dishwasher is 24inches wide and is suitable for the regular kitchen in Indian homes. The under counter design this has will suffice the needs of most people.
Most dishwashers feature control panel at the top edge of door, which makes them difficult to access when the machine is running. Smart designers at LG have scrapped that idea and have placed the control panel on the front. This simple design change will prove to be much helpful to the customers for sure. Moreover, the control panel is enough high that users do not need to bend to access it.
The door handle does not stick out of the dishwasher body and as a result, your kitchen cabinet will get a sneak finish.
LG has also equipped this machine with an LED display. It helps the users in changing various settings and also shows the information like operation stage, cleaning cycle as well as time remaining.
Mind Blowing Design
No other dishwasher in the market can match the minimalistic form factor of this LG machine. Its outer shell has greatly impressed me.
LG sells this dishwasher in two color variants. The model we are reviewing here comes in Noble Steel finish and the other variant (with model number- D1451WF) is available in white color. Both these variants are different in terms of finish but have similar features.
The brushed metal finish of the door gives a great appeal to the eyes. Its paint is durable and will not fade away with time.
The LG dishwasher offers 14 slots to place dishes. There are two racks inside it, both of which slide out as the door is opened.
These racks are flexible as well as adjustable. Customers can load any type of bowl, plate or crockery on them. Even the tines of racks are foldable, which allows users to create more space for bigger utensils.
It processes the dishes in four stages: wash, rinse, dry, and clean. Users get five program cycles to choose from including Dual Spray, Auto, Eco, Care, and Quick. The Auto mode decides the best settings based on how dirty the dishes are and is best for people who are not familiar with dishwashers.
A special Extra Hot Mode is also available for scenarios in which the dishes are dry and too much dirty. In this mode, the LG machine raises the temperature of water up to 80 C for removing even the stickiest of dirt particles.
Inverter Direct Drive Technology
Dishwashers consume electricity in great amount. This is the reason why most people prefer to wash dishes on their own.
LG’s Inverter Direct Drive technology tries to reduce the electricity consumption of this machine.
Traditional dishwashers come with a motor that always runs at same speed. This means even if the dishes are not so dirty and there is no requirement for the machine to run at the highest settings, the motor will not reduce its speed. Hence, these types of dishwashers consume more power.
Inverter Technology allows the motor of LG dishwasher to run at different speeds as per the requirement. In addition, the Direct Drive technique helps in saving more water.
Another important feature of this dishwasher is it generates much less noise. You would only hear a light buzz when it is cleaning dishes.
Some Amazing Extra Feature
LG has packed this dishwasher with many extra features and the one I like the most is its Smart Diagnosis System. This feature eliminates the need of an LG service engineer to visit your home to detect a problem. It works the following way:
- First, you call LG’s support center in case the machine is not working properly.
- Now the support executive will ask you to press some buttons and place the phone as close to the control panel as possible.
- After pressing the buttons, the LG dishwasher will start generating some beeps. The support executive will hear these beeps and interpret their meaning.
- Now the executive will tell you the real cause of the problem.
This machine also comes with a Child Lock function. It freezes the control panel during the cleaning operation and stops children from changing any settings.
Customers can use the inbuilt Time Delay feature to set the LG dishwasher for cleaning dishes in advance. Most people set the delay timer for night; this way they get cleaned dishes in the morning without any hassle.
No Installation Needed
There is no need to call an engineer for the installation. All you have to do is connect the inlet and drain hosepipes according to the manual and the LG dishwasher will be all set to clean dishes.
Poor Customer Service
Although LG is a big brand but it does not have a good name when it comes to customer service. Its support staff is criticized for not following up with the customers properly.
When someone spends more than 40,000 rupees on a kitchen appliance, he or she expects to get a quality support in the hour of need. I hope LG will understand this and improve its post-purchase services.
- Attractive finish of the outer shell
- Durable metal body
- Adjustable and flexible racks
- 14 dish capacity
- Multiple program cycles for different needs
- Inverter Direct Drive Technology reduces electricity and water consumption
- 10 years of warranty on the motor
- Poor ratings LG’s on-site service and customer support
- Overly expensive
Clearly, the LG D1452CF Dishwasher is a great machine that every son would like to gift his mom. It is durable, useful, and elegant looking.
However, we cannot neglect its unreasonable price. In my opinion, this machine should be available at 35,000 rupees or lower to remain in the competition. Other manufacturers like Bosch and Siemens are already selling their dishwashers in the same price segment.
