Indian common man searching space in digital world is phenomenon.
Have you ever thought why smartphone has a one sided story of success in India? Why not other gadgets? Answer for that is – we Indian need more in less price. And, a smartphone is a true example of more in less price.
In this article, we are reviewing the latest four smartphones launched in India under 5000 rupees. “Top smartphone below 5000” and “best smartphone under 10000” are two the best search queries for this website. Recently we were suggested by the Google to have more articles related to 5000 to 10000 rupees budget gadgets.
These are not the best smartphones rather recent launches in India. You can choose one based on our review and your personal liking.
XOLO Dual SIM Prime
Indian brand XOLO is credited with the best designed smartphones in our market. So far, the brand has been restraining from the low budget category. Now the first time, we have a cute wonder from my favorite brand XOLO at a price of 4900 rupees.
The XOLO prime sails on Android Lollipop 5.0.1 and features a complete combo of smartphone technologies. This is a perfect smartphone renders true value for money. User gets dual network connectivity that in GSM mode. The main high-lights of this phone is excellent built and a sense of completeness.
The prime smartphone is available in three colour combination. You ought to choose Black as the rest two colour compositions does not go well in day to day decor. In terms of shape and size, this is a flat and solid craft measures in 9.5 mm of thickness, 68 mm of width and 135 mm of length. This is a balanced rectangle design that is neither long nor wide.
This Lollipop smartphone flaunts good processing power because of a quad core MediaTek processor that shakes at a clock speed of 1.3 GHz. Gaming or generic graphic demands is executed well by a Mali 400 GPU. 1 GB RAM is good news for those want many applications and games to be part of this phone. The Prime is true value for money. You will get satisfaction with the hardware balance and software integration.
I am personally not hungry for memory. Also, I am not crazy for smartphone photography or games that demand more in store storage. However, that is not a case with most of my friends. I am OK with 4 GB ROM, but the XOLO has pierced it with a 8 GB of onsite storage for customers like you. Those wants entire music gallery to be in phone can choose 32 GB SD card slot. Yes, it works well while you insert a heavy size microSD card.
4.5 inches screen features a 480P resolute IPS LED display has a PPI of 218. In my opinion, this is a balance screen with great viewing angle from all sides. 218 PPI pixel de-centralization is helping achieve long battery life, despite high usages. Sharpness and colour reproduction does not disappoint considering it to be a budget friendly gadget.
The primary 5 MP auto focus camera locks and shoots object in ultra fast mode. For shooting in low light, it has a power LED flash to lighten up the object such way that image reflects best possible detailing. We could able to take some nice shots in natural light. The Image had nice colour and right about of detailing and backgrounds. At the selling price of 5000 rupees, you get true value for money because of good camera feature.
Selfie lover ought to be disappointed with extremely poor 0.3 MP VGA camera. Xolo must have given at least 1 MP for best selfie.
The camera application is really good and optimized with some better photography feature. Face detection, Geo Tagging, HDR Mode, Smile Detection and Touch to focus are some cool features resembled in the phone to enhance camera performance.
1800 mAh battery is true champion in delivery 36 to 48 hours of multitasking or multimedia operations. With a use of Battery doctor app, we could achieve 41 hours of backup against medium usages. According to official facts, The XOLO Prime supports 21 hours of 2G and 10 Hours of 3G talk Time. 100% full charged battery delivers 20 days of standby on 2G and 15 days of standby on 3G network.
Away for the official fact, we confirm that the Prime has good battery back that takes you upto 3 days of usages if you requirement is limited at calling and basic operations.
In terms of network connectivity, the prime features support for 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS. Network frequency band starts from 900 MHz and goes upto 2100 MHz. For device to device bridge, it has a Bluetooth 4.0 and micro USB port.
A phone becomes smartphone if there is right count of sensors. This smartphone lists Accelerometer and Proximity sensor for smart work.
Flexible memory management with decent display and processor strength ensures true multimedia. Besides, user gets FM tuner and loudspeaker features in this musical smart gadget.
This is my pick. Everything is good about this phone. Nice features, cool look and balance architecture with XOLO care is sufficient to make it your PICK.

Xccess 4inch Smartphone Blaze
The Xccess brand is one of the biggest distributor of Micromax Smartphone. Recently the brand realized, why we should earn only commission on sales, why not make extra with some quick combination of a display, processor, memory and battery. Entry of smartphone distributor into smartphone manufacturing space makes me think, is it right to continue with a gadget review website or should I get in to Smartphone designing and manufacturing. Today, smartphone design has become a joke. Some custom designs are sent to China for manufacturing and then sale the same cheap Chinese goods in India at high price to make handsome profit.
Coming back to the blaze, it is a dual SIM smartphone runs on an Android Kitkat 4.4.2. Company gives a cellphone, charger, battery, earphone along with a one-year warranty card in the sales box. This smartphone requires SIM in micro size. You can make a regular SIM in micro Size by just paying 10 to 20 rupees at a local smartphone shop.
This is a multi-touch smartphone available at Amazon India in one colour option. Its body is measured in 9.5 mm of thickness, 64.3 mm in width and 125.5 mm in length. Company has not shared the gross weight.
Poor performance is narrated by a dual core MediaTek processor wherein each core has a booster speed of 1.2 GHz. 512 MB RAM is good, but does not have much to say in the performance enhancement.
Internal offline storage is 4 GB wherein the end users get approx 2.78 to 2.99 GB after the first boot. This smartphone has a SD card slot that takes a microSD card upto 32 GB officially. We had tested the SD card slot strength. The phone was behaving terribly after inserting a 16 GB card. So, officially microSD card support is 32 GB, but in realistic term it is 16 GB or less.
The Xccess brand has stated officially that the smartphone has an IPS LED display wherein pixel density is 233 PPI and resolution is 480×800 Pixels. Yes, display of this smartphone is good. 233 PPI is just for the fact sheet; in real life quality is not like 233 PPI. I could feel the pixel dot in display.
2 MP primary and 0.3 MP front facing camera is meaningless. Dual LED flash and digital ZOOM does not help in capturing good image. Dual LED flash is good and throws sufficient light at object, but the poor camera cannot do justice to the moment.
1450 mAh Lithium-ion battery is below the market standard. With this battery, you will get around 30 hours of backup on normal usages. However, if you do multimedia activity even for 10 minutes, the battery starts shrinking rapidly.
With support of micro SIM, it offers pleasant experience for GPRS, 2G and 3G. For device to device connectivity, it has a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB port. The Xccess Blaze does not support OTG connectivity. The Blaze network frequency band starts from 900 MHz so, you will face frequent signal drop on the tower network of BSNL or other small telecom companies.
User cannot play HD video on this smartphone. It has a nice FM tuner that works with all local Indian FM station frequency. Since, loudspeaker is not present so you won’t be able to enjoy loud music on speaker.
We do not recommend this phone. I do not find any reason that will strengthen our confidence in the Xccess Blaze.

Intex Cloud M5 II
Now Intex has stabilized itself as a brand to look out for good smartphone in low budget category. After years of flip flop, finally Intex is able to deliver some good smartphones with decent specifications.
This is a good smartphone under 5000 rupees budget. It supports dual SIM feature and runs on the latest Android Kitkat 4.4.2. On purchase, buyer gets a smartphone, battery, charger, earphone, USB Cable and a warranty card for brand commitment of one year of free service.
It is available in two colour variants, which is black and white. In terms of measurement, we find the M5 II 9.1 mm thick, 71.2 mm wide and 144 mm long.
The Cloud M5 II is powered a quad core chipset of Spreadtrum that is able executes instruction at a clock speed of 1.2 GHz. 1 GB RAM is a good part of this phone. In our short test, we could be able to install many high-end popular applications and runs them professionally with any lag. Although, processor does not allow popular action and adventure games to run smoothly, but 1 GB RAM is relief for space hunger apps such as Facebook and Whatsapp.
8 GB preinstalled memory is excellent. The end user gets 5.3 to 5.5 GB after the first boot. Although you can enhance the gross storage with an addition to a microSD card 32 GB.
The Intex M5 II sports a 5 inches TFT display with 480P resolution. Interesting fact is 196 PPI pixel distributions that work well in favour of saving lots battery power during multitasking. Yes, display looks sluggish, but goes in favor user for giving a longer battery life.
The primary camera is 5 MP and optimized for FHD recording that is in support of dual LED flash and digital zoom. Interesting to know, we could able to shoot some good shots in low-light ambience thanks powerful LED flash. The camera enhancement feature “Continues shot” is not similar to Panorama photography rather it gives you option to capture one shot after another without waiting for camera adjustment.
1.3 MP Selfie shooter is poor in terms of quality, feature and functionality.
2000 mAh battery is really a good specification here. According to official fact sheet, the end user gets 6 hours of 2G and 3G talk time. Also, you have been promised of 10 days standby on a 2G or 3G network on a single charge. We know that this is totally wrong. You cannot have the same battery backup on 2G and 3G network.
In real life, user can get two days of regular usages thanks to good battery capacity and poor pixels in display.
With data tethering support, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, 2G, GPRS and USB port features are main highlights of the connectivity list. The Cloud M5 II frequency band support start from 900 MHz so you will face some link drop in rural or mountain reason. Accelerometer and Light Sensor got place in the craft to render a smart performance.
With this Intex phone, you can enjoy video, music, FM and loudspeaker calling.
This is good phone to buy. Brand new model of Intex has all right amount of features to make it a perfect device under 5000 rupees. My emphasis will remain at battery backup that is a feature in this smartphone. Yes, you can consider this phone if your budget is 4500 to 5000 rupees.

M-Tech Stylish Ace 5
This is a smartphone where more importance has been given to battery power. That is something has always been praised at this website.
The Ace 5 features dual network support wherein frequency range is between 850 MHz to 2100 MHz. The brand has priced this smartphone at 4999 rupees and today it is exclusively available at Flipkart.com. Among all four smartphones, this is a thinnest craft and has a body draft measured in 146 mm long, 75 mm wide and just 8.0 mm thick.
Review of this smartphone is based on update received from actual users. M-Tech has used MediaTek quad core processor with 1.2 GHz clock speed. With support of 512 MB, common performance is good. Some time it gets heat up because of the thrust of running applications. One thing is sure, at a price of 4999 rupees, you are getting a phone with good performance that translates into smooth application execution.
Storage is a disappointment as it packs a 4 GB of ROM wherein the end user gets just 2.78 GB free space after the first boot. Memory expansion goes upto 32 GB with support of microSD card in SD card slot.
The Ace 5 sports a 5 inches screen with 480P resolution and 196 PPI pixels per inches. This is IPS LED panel does not burn battery because of low pixel distribution. No complain as far as sharpness, colour reproduction and saturation goes. Also, watching video is a pleasant experience that is counted in multimedia performance.
Coming to the camera feature, the rear camera is a 8 MP auto focus shooter with LED flash and digital ZOOM. In term of special feature, user gets to shoot HD quality video with the enabled HDR mode. 1.3 MP Selfie shooter is also good and does well in natural light. We do not recommend this phone for best selfie.
Combination of 8 MP auto focus rear and 1.3 MP front facing camera does favour this smartphone. At the price of 5000 rupees, user gets the best value.
2100 mAh battery is simply mind-blowing. According to my friend, he could be able to achieve more than 48 hours of active usages while battery doctor app was running in the background to remove unwanted running applications. As we all know, Android suffers this problem, if you just go back home, though the application disappeared, but keep running in the background.
Therefore, it is a mandatory note and our recommendation; you must use battery doctor app to save precious battery backup.
In totality, this is a good smartphone should be considered an alternative to Intex Smartphone in the same category. The Ace 5 ensures that user get good smartphone experience. Also, the designing team of the M-Tech should be credited for balanced specifications.
The smartphone has a decent battery, average display to favour battery backup, good performance and good camera features as well. At the price of 4999, this is a good value for money and a perfect alternative of Intex smartphones.
