Best Tablets under 10000 Rupees

In the last few years, microprocessors have become quite powerful. Because of this, manufacturers are now able to make powerful tablets capable of giving tough competition to even some budget level laptops.

These days many people are shifting from laptops to tablets because these portable devices are compact, lightweight, and easy to handle. Moreover, a tablet can also be a great gaming and entertainment platform.

Tablet enthusiasts who do not know much about processor technology and other aspects of modern devices make mistakes while making a purchase.

This article is for people who want a good tablet under their budget but do not have the expertise to decide a device according to their needs.

Lava Ivory M4 T80 Tablet

Lava had launched its Ivory M4 tablet in the December of 2015. In the first two weeks, this device attracted many tablet lovers.

The Ivory M4 is still one of the best options to go for if the budget is low. Currently, this device is available in the market for an amount of 9,299 rupees.

Premium Looks

By looking at this tablet, I can say that Lava has taken inspiration from Apple for designing it. The back of the tablet looks very similar to the latest generation iPad.

Although the manufacturer has used cheap material while making it, the device still feels good in the hand. Rounded corners and curved edges give a premium touch to the whole setup.

Display Offers a Decent Resolution

The Ivory M4 tablet comes with an 8-inch display, which is an ideal size for outdoor usage. You will not find this device too bulky and the screen is enough wide to offer a good movie watching experience.

Screen resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels is manageable considering the current status of budget tablets. This Lava tablet features an IPS panel and generates accurate colors.

The 16:09 aspect ratio of its display is good for media consumers, but it will disappoint the people who want to do productivity related tasks.Lava Ivory M4 T80 Tablet Review Specifications Price Online in India

Average Performer

Lava has installed a Cortex A53 quad-core processor that clocks at 1.3 GHz on this device. The 2 GB of RAM and Mali 400 MP2 GPU do help in enhancing the performance of the Ivory M4, but it still fails to smoothly run heavy games available out there.

This tablet is only good for casual gaming and playing videos. I would like to point out though it is capable of handling multiple apps simultaneously.

Great Connectivity Options

Generally, manufacturers refrain from offering even the needed connectivity features on tablets. This is especially true for budget level devices.

Well, Lava has taken the initiative of changing this situation. On this tablet, single SIM card slot supporting to 3G internet as well as 3G voice calling.

The Ivory M4 also offers USB OTG functionality.

Impressive Cameras

Traditionally, tablets were not meant for photography, though the scenario has changed in the modern world. Nowadays people use tablets for all kinds of purposes like gaming, movie watching, calling, and even for working.

The Lava Ivory M4 seems a really nice package on the optical front. It features an 8 MP shooter on the back and another 3.2 MP sensor on the front. Both these cameras capture great details.

Runs on Android Lollipop

This Lava tablet runs Android Lollipop right out of the box. The manufacturer has done minimal customizations to the interface, which is a bonus.

UI remains smooth no matter how many apps are running in the background.

Good Battery Life

The Ivory M4 flaunts a 4000 mAh non-removable battery. As its screen resolution is not very high and the processor is not electricity demanding, you will get a pretty long battery life. One thing to note here is a battery this huge will require at least two hours to fully charge.

  • 2GB RAM
  • Impressive battery backup
  • Smooth interface
  • Features great cameras
  • 16GB of onboard storage with microSD card slot

  • Not good for intensive gaming
  • No 4G support

In my opinion, the Ivory M4 tablet will prove to be a great deal at this price point. There are other alternatives that offer better performance but they lag behind this device on the front of connectivity.

You will not even need a smartphone while traveling with the Ivory M4 as it is capable of making voice calls.

Micromax Canvas Tab P702

Micromax has become quite active in the tablet market since the last two years. We have already witnessed the launch of the Canvas LapTab and LapTab 2, both of which were amazing devices in their respective price segments. For 2016 also, Micromax has reserved some great plans.

In the month of March (this year of course), the Desi manufacturer unveiled another member of its tablet range. The Canvas Tab P702 is an amazing tablet. You can purchase it for just 7,999 rupees.

A Small Display

The Canvas Tab P702 is a relatively small tablet, if not the smallest. Its display measures just 7-inches diagonally. Screen resolution of only 1024 X 600 pixels will disappoint a number of customers for sure.

Luckily, this screen is based on IPS technology. Thus, the generated colors are as accurate as they can be and the viewing angles of the display are also much wide.

One important benefit of its small display is users can easily operate it. Top and bottom bezels are of medium size, which helps to hold the device in landscape mode.Micromax Canvas Tab P702 Review Specifications Price Online in India

Takes Decent Shots

At this price point, we cannot expect Micromax to offer a high-resolution camera. The Canvas Tab P702 shoots average quality images with its rear 5 MP camera. You can also record 720p videos with it.

The 2MP Selfie shooter is not impressive at all. I tried to capture some selfie with it but none of them was good enough according to today’s standards.

A Multitasking Platform

This 8000-rupee tablet will surprise you on the performance front. Under the hood, it features a 1.3 GHz quad-core CPU coupled with a 2GB of RAM.

It is so good at multitasking that Google Chrome (an app known for its memory hunger) remains in the memory even when 10 other apps are running simultaneously.

The Canvas P702 will not impress you on the gaming front. While running games like Asphalt 8 and NOVA 3, frame drops become normal.

It runs a slightly customized version of Android Lollipop and offers 16 GB of onboard storage, which is expandable up to 32 GB via a microSD card.

Many Connectivity Features

The Canvas P702 is one of the cheapest tablets to support 4G connectivity. It sports two SIM card slots and also allows the users to make voice calls.

Unfortunately, Micromax has featured a small 3000 mAh battery on it. This will prove to be a serious deal breaker. A tablet is supposed to last for at least a couple of days on a single charge. There is no way this Canvas device will last that long.

  • Bad battery life
  • Not good for productivity
  • Low screen resolution

The Canvas P702 comes with some serious cons but at the same time, it offers many amazing features also. You would hardly find another 4G tablet with a 2 GB of RAM at this price in the market.

Still, I expect Micromax to address the cons listed in above lines on the future version of this device.

Micromax Fantabulet F666

The best way to attract customers is to offer premium features at budget prices, which is what Micromax is doing these days.

Micromax launched the Fantabulet F666 in the beginning of this year with an aim to compete with devices like Lenovo Phab Plus and Apple iPad Mini. As of now, the tablet is selling at 6,949 rupees.

I used this device for one week and my experience was very different from what Micromax promises on its website.

Mind Blowing Design

I will give 10/10 marks to Micromax for the design of this tablet. Its beauty will blow your mind on the very first look.

The outer shell of the Fantabulet depicts a perfect rectangle with sharp corners. On the back, it features a two-tone finish. Slightly curved profile helps in offering a comfortable grip.

Micromax has tried to make this device a perfect platform for media consumption. It flaunts a 6.8-inch display on the front molded in 16:09 aspect ratio.

Because of the small display and elongated shape, it looks more like a phablet than a tablet. Its IPS panel allows the users to watch HD movies in their full glory by offering a screen resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels.Micromax Fantabulet F666 Review Specifications Price Online in India

A Perfect Daily Driver

The Fantabulet does not suffer from any hiccups while performing moderate takes. At the heart of this device is a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. Its 1GB of RAM provides enough memory for the UI to run smoothly.

I would like to admit though this Micromax product is not a good platform for running intensive applications. Onboard 8 GB storage limits users from installing large apps unless they purchase a microSD card.

This device runs Android Lollipop and as of now, Micromax has not said anything on Marshmallow update.

Supports Voice Calls

The Fantabulet supports voice calling, which is an appreciable feature. Micromax has equipped it with two SIM card slots but only one supports 3G networks.

Other Important Features of the Micromax Fantabulet:

  • Features 8MP rear and 2MP front camera
  • A low capacity 3000 mAh battery powers this device
  • GPS functionality

  • Pocket-friendly design
  • Premium looks
  • MicroSD card slot
  • 8MP rear camera

  • Not a gaming device
  • Bad selfie camera
  • Only 8GB of onboard storage

If you want a compact tablet capable of fitting inside your pocket, purchase the Fantabulet.  Its 1GB of RAM will limit users from running many apps and games, though. By investing a thousand rupees more you can get Canvas Tab P702 that offers 2 GB of RAM.

Lenovo Tab 2 A7-20

I am of the view that the benefits of technology should reach everyone irrespective of the economic condition of people. Well, appears to be Lenovo also believe in the same ideology.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-20 (launched last year in the month of October) is currently the most affordable quality tablet you can get. Its price tag of 5,000 rupees has become a great attraction for many technology enthusiasts. The best thing about this device is it is so cheap that even college students can purchase it by saving pocket money.

Great Build Quality

When it comes to budget segment, tablets and smartphones always lack the desired build quality. The good thing is Lenovo wants to make a distinction.

This tablet offers a solid build quality and feels really great in the hand. Its back panel does generate creaking sound but only when enough pressure is applied.

Superior Display Panel

At this price point also Lenovo was able to ship this tablet with a 7-inch IPS panel. Generated colors in the screen largely appear to be vivid and accurate no matter from which angle you look at the screen. The brightness levels of the display are also very impressive. It can go too bright to help in reading outdoors and in dark situations the brightness can also go down to a much low level so that your eyes do not feel any strain.Lenovo Tab 2 A7 20 Tablet Review Specifications Price Online in India

Budget Performer

A quad-core 1.3 GHz processor at the heart of this tablet is capable of running everything you throw on it. A 1GB of RAM is more than enough for a device of this price segment.

The Tab 2 fluently runs games like Temple Run, Subway Surfer, and Leo’s Fortune. Intensive games including Asphalt 8 and Riptide GP2 are also playable at low graphic settings.

It runs on a dated version of Android OS i.e. Kitkat. Fortunately, Lenovo has promised a Lollipop update for the device.

This tablet features a really loud speaker on the front. Dolby Surround Sound technology enhances the audio frequencies and gives user a theatre like experience. One thing to note though is that because of a single speaker, this device cannot generate stereo effect.

Long Lasting Battery

Powering this device is a massive 3450-mAh battery. A single charge easily lasts for around 2-3 days on moderate usage. The charger, Lenovo sends with this device is fully charging it up in about 3-3.30 hours.

Other Important Features Of the Lenovo A7-20 Tablet

  • Connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG and GPS.
  • 2MP rear and 0.3 MP front camera.

  • Massive battery
  • Powerful performance
  • Dolby Digital technology
  • USB OTG support

  • Mediocre cameras
  • No SIM support

This tablet will only suit people who always have Wi-Fi accessibility because it does not feature any SIM card slot. To connect to internet it depends on Wireless LAN.

Everything else on the Lenovo Tab 2 is good. It is a perfect solution for students who need to browse internet for research and university notifications.
