HP Pavilion x360 11-n109TU 11.6-inch Touch screen Laptop
HP is famous for making some great laptops and printers around the world. The brand is really old and was established in the year 1939. In its early year, the brand focused on counter radar technology and shell fuses. Before entering into the computer world, HP made consumer level calculators.
Sorry for mentioning the story of HP. I just wanted readers to know how much this brand has evolved in the past. It changes its products with time and adopts new technologies. Why is it so important here? Well, because HP, after being inspired by Lenovo, is now focusing on 2-in-1 laptops.
This is evident with the launch of the HP Pavilion x360 11-n109TU laptop that can be purchased in the market for an amount of 37,999 rupees.
The laptop comes with an 11.6-inch touch display. You might find this screen small, but it helps in making the device compact. HD resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels results in crispier graphics. It is also equipped with an antiglare layer that helps a lot outdoors. Color reproduction is good, but not great. Some images will look washed out, but at this price, we cannot complain that.
360 Degree Rotation
This laptop can be used in multiple modes as its display panel is flexible enough to get rotated up to 360 degrees. You can use it in tablet mode by fully rotating the display or in stand mode by rotating the screen halfway.
Ease of Use
You will love the materials that the manufacturer has used in making the outer shell of this laptop. Aluminum finished palm rest (or deck) gives a comforting feel and does not attract fingerprints. The power button is located on the left side so that users can press it even when the keyboard is not accessible.
However, I do not like the design of this HP laptop. The highly curved edges and thick bezels give it a feel of a decade old device.
Offers Stereo Audio
At the bottom of this laptop, you can find two speakers that produce great quality sound. Beats audio technology enhances all the frequencies. External speakers can also be attached to the combined audio-microphone jack.
Users Get All the Needed Connectivity Options
Although this laptop is made compact in size but HP has equipped with all the connectivity ports that you will ever need. You get one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports on the right side along with a full-size HDMI port. The laptop also comes with RJ45 port and a 3-in-1 SD card reader.
Sensors like Accelerometer and Gyroscope are also present to help you out in tablet mode.
This HP laptop is not suitable for graphic designing or video editing. The Intel Core M processor that it houses has got only two cores each of which clock at a mere 800 MHz. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5300 GPU is good at playing full HD videos, but suffers a lot when it comes to intensive games. It offers 500 GB of HDD storage coupled with 4GB of RAM, which is not a big surprise at this price.
Bad Battery Life
The laptop comes with two cell batteries that will not give more than four hours of power backup. If you have decided to purchase this device, then be sure to always carry the charger in the bag.
- Can be used as a tablet, display can be rotated up to 360 degrees
- Good build quality
- Dual speakers
- Ethernet port
- Features sensors like Accelerometer and Gyroscope.
- Inbuilt microphone and webcam
- Performance is not up to the mark
- No DVD burner
This 2-in-1 laptop does come with great features. However, American brand HP is still behind Chinese brand Lenovo when it comes to making hybrid devices. My advice would be not to purchase this product unless you are a really big fan of 2-in-1 laptops and trust only the brand HP.
Lenovo FLEX 2-14D 59-436783 14-inch Touch screen Laptop
10 years ago the electronic gadget laptops were considered the slow machine with limited use. During that time, laptops were used only as a portable text editing machines. However, the rapid innovation and modification in the shape size have made this gadget a must have for the work productivity. Today, laptops are the first choice for business executives, students, graphic designers, and programmers. In fact, some laptops of the present world even come with 2-in-1 functionality of both laptops and tablets.
Lenovo’s Flex series laptops are becoming really popular among the tech lovers. The FLEX 2-14D (59-436783) is the second generation laptop of the same series and is currently selling at a really attractive price of 31,412 rupees. It offers great build quality, touch sensitive display and an AMD processor at the heart. Before we move on, I want to tell friends that Lenovo also offers multiple variants of the same laptop with varying specs and prices.
Ultrafast Quad Core Processor
AMD chips are generally not good for consumer level products, but the processor (A8 6410) that this laptop comes with is really exceptional. It offers two MB cache and four cores each of which clock at 2.0 GHz. To give a perspective, the Intel i3 4010U processor, which costs more than the A8 6410, features only 2 cores, 0.5 MB of L2 cache and clocks at 1.7 GHz.
However, do not expect this laptop to be great at rendering graphics because it is still a budget segment product.
14 inch HD Touch Panel
Surprisingly, Lenovo is offering a 14 inch IPS display panel on this laptop even at this price. Moreover, the same display is also equipped with a 10 point multitouch sensor layer. Viewing angles are really great and the graphic reproduction is just awesome. All the colors are produced accurately and the contrast ratio is super high.
Hybrid Hard Drive
This laptop houses a 500 GB hybrid hard drive, which is also equipped with 8 GB of SSD. The solid state drive acts as a cache partition for providing higher read & write speeds. This ultimately benefits the users by making their experience snappy.
The display of the Flex 2-14D can be rotated up to 300 degrees, which Lenovo calls as stand mode. By doing this, you can be much closer to the screen and create your presentations more efficiently or have a great movie watching experience. The hinge that connects display to the laptop’s main body is made of strong materials and is highly durable. Even the outer shell of this device gives a premium appeal to the eyes.
Great Connectivity and Multimedia Features
Lenovo has also provided a full-size HDMI port on this laptop that allows the users to cast presentations to any external display. Users can also find an RJ 45 and a USB 3.0 port on the left side. Combined audio and microphone port can be a little disappointing for those who like to edit movies.
Two 1.5 Watt speakers produce loud audio and give stereo effect. The Dolby Advanced Audio technology offers an immersive experience while listening to music.
- Hybrid Hard Drive
- 2 MB cache
- 4 GB RAM, upgradable up to 16 GB (Single Slot)
- HD web cam for high-quality video conferencing
- Looks great
- AMD Radeon R5 Graphics
- Display panel can be rotated up to 300 degrees
- Stereo speakers
- HDMI and RJ45 port
- IPS touch display panel
- Full-size keypad
- Comes with Windows 8.1 64bit preinstalled
- No CD drive
- Battery backup is not that impressive
Considering the price point, this Lenovo laptop offers really great performance. Its outer shell gives a good level of comfort during the use. Articulating touch screen panel is a worthy add-on that makes operating this laptop lot easier. Moreover, this device also gives you the ability to upgrade its components. However, the lack of CD drive is something that budget customers will certainly not like.
